a shield in the snow (Tortuga)

She would be in her pack lands again, her home. She knew her Queen Roman was to have pups soon, and Misha would have to be there to help with the newly added young to Tortuga. She remembered that in the pack meeting Qanik had been called off as Alphess of the Tortuga pack, mostly to take stress off of the pregnant Roman.
She would hear a call in the distance, perking up her ears as she did so. Her legs quickly carried her to the giver of the call. It was her alpha- Qanik. "Qanik, milady," Misha would say in greeting as she noticed she was the first to appear. "Are you doing all right?" She would ask in a soft tone, melodic chords laced with worryment as she saw Qanik pacing- unlike her usual calm demeanor, she seemed tense.
The brown woman would seat herself across from where Qanik was pacing, waiting for a reply from the white lady.
