The fae would lick his cheek, a smile brought to his face. But he would watch as she listened to the birds and her eyes would close. His ears pinned in disappointment. He thought she would enjoy the world underneath them, like he did. He would lash his rouge out at her muzzle, pulling back and pointing his ears to her waiting for her to open her emeralds again. Esper always seemed to do more listening than looking, but Chrono wanted her eyes on him. She tried to comfort him a little, tried to say that he could be a better father than his own. But that wasn't helping him. The subject dropped about pups, and so he would keep it that way. One day they may, but Chrono didn't want to think about that day. It wasn't happening now.
