a shield in the snow (Tortuga)

Sunlight failed but only for a while
In the moonlight pale someone made me smile
Gossamir trotted lazily back into the borders with a mouth full of lamb's ear and lavender. It was time to build her stock pile while the spring time plants were growing ravenously across the lands of Alacritis. Slipping quietly into her store den she set things aside, shuffling and rearranging until a call ran out. Shuffling backwards she paused, ears flicking forward. That was definitely Qanik's call. It was tinted with just a tinge of worry and Gossamir leapt to her feet in a run.
She frowned a bit that she was late but she shrugged it off quickly better late than never. Setting aside her herbs she licked her mouth a moment before her eyes fixated on Qanik and she stared? eyes drawn suddenly to the femmes belly. It was subtle so at first Gossamir thought nothing of it but there was a shift in Qanik's scent. Was she? PREGNANT?! Gossamir couldn't stop staring. There was no way. There was just no way?
"Uh... sorry I'm late. Qanik, can I erm... talk to you in private later?" She didn't want to bring it up in front of everyone but she was way to curious to just go about minding her own business.

The shining almost took me
but I made it through the night
