Dayton was feeling a bit happier lately, what with the hopeful prospect of spring and a surprise visit from Pacifica... He was finally able to smile again and soak up the sunshine of each new day. He was optimistic again. So when the call met his ears, he was quick to respond. The boy hopped up and immediately ran off in the direction of the call. He knew the voice belonged to Qanik, but her tone sounded off somehow. Less patient. What she upset about something? Dayton told himself not to worry as he came onto the scene. They were meeting by the lake, as they usually did. But something still didn't feel right. Dayton forced himself to brush directly past Misha, his shoulder accidentally bumping hers. Not wanting to be rude, he spoke to her for the first time in ages. His smile didn't even waver. "Excuse me, miss." His apology was brief, and he quickly turned his eyes away after it had been delivered.

The russet man came to sit near Qanik, concern lining his face. He vowed to himself that his activity would improve, and he would do whatever it took to ease the stress from her shoulders. Those blue eyes should not hold such a burden. He gave his alpha a weak smile. "I'm sorry for my tardiness, Miss Qanik. Is everything alright?"
