Well, if Vendetta was good at absorbing details, Abigail was probably giving out much more than most ? how often did a wolf shudder like this just in a joining thread? Oh, yes, there was definitely something off about this one, but that was to be unraveled over time. But at least she was aware enough to notice some degree of tension between the pera and her new leader ? really, they had hardly even looked at each other, despite the fact they were packmates. Maybe packs were different than she thought? "If just one of my assumptions is wrong? then all of them could be wrong!" was the paranoid thought that shot through her mind, ricocheting around and noisily stirring up more unease. For, truly, this lupine was a creature that was incapable of relaxing.
But the male was making an effort to be friendly. Hell, he didn?t have to do that ? he was the lord here, he could do as he pleased. So then did gratitude swell in her mind, and her heartbeat slow (marginally) from its frantic thumps. Her choice was the correct one, and she was, indeed, useful. By being useful, she was increasing the efficiency of her pack and therefore adding in another barrier of order against entropy.
Her body stiffened momentarily at the contact ? she wasn?t used to physical touches, at least not friendly ones like a paw on her chin to remind her that sometimes excessive submission wasn?t welcome. Her tail flicked behind her happily ? not quite a wag, but a small sign of happiness ? at his words. ?I-I?ll try not to let you down, Az-zat Bass,? she spoke, still calling him by his title. It was only proper, no?
