It was certainly nice to have Song home and watching his daughter and mate interact now was rather lovely as well. The three tiny bundles lay asleep, oblivious to the fact they were now meeting their eldest sister for the first time and for a moment the peacefulness was certainly enough for Dutiron to forget the more serious matters, his aching back for starters and the growing population of the already large pack.
Song would bring that topic straight back to him now with a question as to how the pack had been fairing in her absence. It certainly wasn't an easy one to answer honestly. The pack was doing alright for the most part, but for how much longer if issues weren't addressed. He just hoped that Song was doing as well as she appeared to, she certainly seemed in a far better state than when she had last stood before her parents like this. Ironic how she had handed the pack to them when she had been weak and in need of help and now in the same place the roles had reversed.
"The pack is doing ok, getting a little overpopulated perhaps but for now we aren't suffering for it." That was the easy part. The man would sigh slightly as he looked away from Song before opening his mouth once more to admit the harder part of the news to his daughter. "I am not doing so well however, I've hurt my back and it's taking a while to recover."
