Swift as a deer. Quiet as a shadow.

Quick as a snake. Calm as still water.

His mother had abandoned him shortly after birth, leaving him without the necessary milk to survive. He had been lucky his father had found a surrogate mother to feed him and his sister. His father had later been killed in combat, in a death match with an evil wolf, and his sister had left him to travel with their adoptive uncle. He was completely alone as the siblings from his parent?s first litter had scattered across the world with not even a trail to follow. He was completely alone. How could they all leave him to be alone in the cruelty that was the world? From three seasons onward he had raised himself. He had taught himself to fight though still he sucked at it.

These actions and thoughts are what had led Aquarius to wander through the copse that day. It was dark, probably midnight so not really a day but rather the darkness and shadows of the night. There was a new moon, blocking out any possible moonlight that would allow him to see in such perilous conditions. He would sigh as he kicked at the earth. His tail was still behind him, not moving even a heartbeat. His heart would beat on no matter how broken it might have been. Death was the only salvation he would find but he knew it was far away. He had to live on. He had to continue the Shadowfall line when his family had tailed. He had to make father proud.

He?d never disappoint him again.

He remembered the only time he had dared to disappoint father. The day had been unbearable as his father could barely look him in the eye. Those days were long since gone, buried at the back of his memories as he tried to forget them. He had disappointed his father the day that the great father had died. That was the last words that he had said to his son. You disappoint me Aquarius. You seek out petty revenge and it has cost you everything. His father had cursed him that day. Now, Aquarius had to live with his actions. He'd prove his father wrong. He loved his father and missed him dearly, but it had been quite the love hate relationship.

He would forge a new life for himself. He'd prove to his father that he had not lost his spirit. He had not lost everything.

Fear cuts deeper than swords. Aquarius
