We Stand Above the Crowd

Her paws led her to the shade of the trees, keeping away from the powerful sun. Slender legs carried the dame in a swift and agile pace, in the direction of the trees. Delicate emerald grass brushed her paws as she dashed along, quickening into a short run. The graceful breeze carrier her into an open clearing with no trees, only grass. The warmth dazzled like a thousand glimmering stars and the sunbeams lit her deep maple pelt into a mesmerizing display of gold and amber. Her head lifted to the sky, eyes perfectly matching the blue surface. Not a single ivory cloud dared stain the sky's azure look. The sky was flawless.

Trekking once more in the shadows, the dark lady only observed the surroundings around her. Perhaps it all was full of life, color and emotion. She wasn't. She was only an unwanted, unloved and avoided creature. Was there anyone else with a chaotic, cold and mindless self? Did anyone else stand above the crowd?
