The boy had never been one to wander from home for long. His father was gone, leaving Cador the only one to look out for his family - a misogynistic view, perhaps, but in Cador's eyes it had less to do with the fact that they were women and everything to do with the fact that he wanted to keep them from feeling the pain that they had felt in the aftermath of Leon (not even his father, not anymore - the boy was bitter, to say the least) ever again. It was this that encouraged Cador to never go too far from home. He was never more than a few hours' brisk travel from his family. For all that Olympus didn't seem entirely welcoming of those outside the Olympus family, it was still home for as long as his family stayed there and that meant that Cador stuck close to it.

Already almost a year old, Cador had the awkward build and awkward mindset of a teenager. He was still full to the brim of confidence in the Adravendi name and himself. Leon leaving had only stripped Cador of his worship of his father - not the family name. There were many greats in his family, and Leon simply wasn't one of them. But his blood would not tarnish the Adravendi name for long, not when Cador was around to bring it pride once more.

Thoughts like this gave him the kind of easy self-confidence that he wore. Nothing threw Cador for long; he was endlessly confident in himself and his capabilities, simply due to what his family had done. He could be a king, just like his uncle Cairo. There was greatness to be had here; Cador just had to apply himself a little and soon enough, he too would stand with the giants.
