Why? Out of all the possible questions the ebony female could have asked, she had to question why she spoke another language. Her following words were almost taken as an insult or scold. She told her inner spirit to calm down and reply without irritation. Although the other dame did have a point, what other creatures still used that language? She and the tribe were the only wolves inhabiting the lands. But what if? "Boya ohun ti mo le pade awọn wolves ti o si tun lo o, nibikibi ti won ba wa," She would sternly reply, keeping her tone serious. It sounded silly and ridiculous. There weren't any other wolves, were there? She finished with a carefree shrug. "Emi ko ri ohun ti ko tọ si pẹlu o." The young girl could not understand that speaking a foreign language may be considered an offense by the Oracle. Even if the Oracle did not approve of discussing anything unrelated to the Tahtla, the girl still wouldn't be able to comprehend why. Why would a different language be forbidden to speak? Perhaps it was only through consequences she would finally realize what was right and wrong. Translations: "Maybe I can meet the wolves who still use it, wherever they are." "I don't see anything wrong with it." "Speech" |
