It was surprisingly easy to convince her to take him up on his offer. He'd expected hesitation, some uncertainty, but as far as he could tell, she had no reservations. It was just as well, he wasn't going to complain...although this did mean he wasn't going to get a chance to practice his smooth talking. Nah, he still wasn't going to complain. She was beautiful and they were going into a scary place. There would be plenty more opportunities to show off. He was sure of it.

"Alright, Miss Rhythm," he straightened, "Follow me." Without a second glance he was off, trotting into the darkness nonchalantly. Once he was swallowed in shadows, Valentine spun on his heels to stare out into the open. She put on a bold face, but would she really follow a strange brute into the dark?
