The cool air of this winter paradise was bliss against the thick coat of the colossal beast. Titan paws splayed easily against the hardened snow, pushing through the initial surface with each step and easily finding grip against the earth. The path he wrought was firm, demanding and without the need to slow. There was an odd beauty, a litheness to his decided, iron movements that belonged to the wild, dangerous beauty of a land sunk into the grip of winter. Even the brute's wild coat suited this changed landscape. With the deep blues that tinted his black fur and added changing shades of blue that rippled approvingly across his body. To the silvered, cold eyes that adorned his face, even the brilliant flush of blue that gave life to cheeks belonged here, the cold, soft pink of his nose like a frost-bitten reminder of the horrors that could overcome an unprepared creatures in the merciless season. The brute's initial exploration brought him from the mountains and into a fjord. He could stop before a breathtaking view of a partially frozen lake that stretched out before them, between the half circle of land that surrounded it. He wasn't certain how sturdy the ice looked as he continued his snow-crunching path towards the waterside. He pressed a paw lightly against the earth, before putting his back into the effort, when the 230 pound wolf did not crack the ice he gave a mischievous smile and stepped out onto its surface. He tested it with his immense weight and found it to his satisfaction. He tracked steps through the gentle dusting of snow that layered its surface before stopping a good few meters out into the snow, facing off towards where the lake vanished in the distance he settled down on his hunches and watched the slow fall of the sun as it fell between the massive mountain guardians that stood either side of the Fjord. |
