Still his little mouse made no response, had he frightened it away, scared it into silence? It was possible of course that he had misheard the gasp, but he did not believe so. He spent more of his time listening then speaking and he trusted his instincts. After all, he strongly believed he was the wall that stood between his siblings and danger, this responsibility was the most important part of his essence and he took his duty as guardian seriously. Keeping them safe did not however name him as their keeper, but nor would he let any injustices towards them go unpunished, he would pave the way for them in this new world to an extend, and part of that required the chance to get to know the wolves that lived natively to this land. He remained with his belly to the ice in a gesture or peace as he waited. The long silence stretched on, he spent it still and unmoving, his eyes almost lazily running over the woods in the direction of the noise. It would be his first encounter of a creature of this land, if he could even call it that and he still knew nothing further about these wolves for it, and did not intend to return to his siblings empty handed.

Slowly but surely his patience would begin to pay off as a small head rose above the bushes and he would be met with the sight of her softly brown coat and sunshine eyes too weary to be considered bright. He frowned thoughtfully at the creature, a soft tug of his feathers and his expression slowly delved into a true smile, a gentle one without a single show of teeth as he kept himself in relaxed position against the ground. Ahh... His little mouse, would she honour him with a smile in return? "Hello, little mouse, have you decided yet if I will eat you?" He teased, his cool voice warm with barely noticeable reinsurances. He offered little more in the way of words, and nothing more in the way of movements, he would not startle this timid creature to bolt, not when he barely had the chance to meet her.
