His remarks about this pack called Threar prompted the other chocolate colored wolf into explaining about his home, and Rune was slightly surprised to realize as his visitor went on that the description he provided sounded awfully familiar. A family pack, mostly charged with keeping to themselves and offering a safe haven to them and their own. He might not have described Secretua in those exact words, but it was similar to what the Guardian saw and wanted for his pack. His borders might have been a bit more strict than Threar's, who sounded more willing to accept those from outside their circle, but the basis was the same. They were not a militia focused on domination or chaos. They simply wanted peace for themselves.
"Your pack's wants follow a close path to Secretua's," the grey wolf answered, his low voice finally beginning to lose some of its gruffness now that he knew this wolf and his pack were of no threat. "Safety and stability are what we strive for, as well as self-sustainability. We're independent and want to keep it that way." No way was he going to risk the safety of his family simply to keep alliances that could easily fall through at the first inconvenience. Those that followed him meant far too much to him to allow anything like that to happen. "If you speak truth, we're on neutral footing. Secretua's not one to start fights," Rune stated, trusting that he spoke for the whole of his pack. They were a little rambunctious, true, but none of his wolves were instigators trying to bring trouble to their family.
He fell silent for a moment, considering the impending trips he wished to make, and added, "How far to the east is Threar? I'm making plans to visit my neighbors in the coming months, and if you'd allow it I'd like to add your pack to my list." It would leave two packs that he was first aware of that he would visit, this one and the one that had been recently formed just south of Secretua. It was a meager start on his mission to become more informed of the packs around him, but it was better than starting with nothing.
