Starting from the knolls, the man would follow close behind his company, an elegant smile coiled across his lips. He was content to remain quiet and observe for a few moments as they journeyed out of the hills. They were something beautiful – something he appreciated. Soft grass and gentle slopes, perfect for afternoon naps or nighttime stargazing. All of that, he could get very much used to. He would glide his gaze along the scenery a few more times before concluding his thoughts and picking up his pace a little to pull up alongside the right of Lysis. There he’d turn his muzzle to face her in time to smoothly catch the beginnings of a conversation.

The young man’s ears slid forward as his smile curled a little more with amusement. She had offered an interesting question. ”Who am I?” he mused aloud, tilting his chin down a centimeter and studying the girl from beneath an arched brow. ”Hm…” His gaze fell away from her for a moment. ”A snared wayfarer, plucked from the winds of whim by the charming man you know to be your leader,” he would reply after a bit of thought, still looking onward in the direction of the farm. He would then turn his head swiftly to look toward Lysis again, a droll smirk lighting upon his features as he hoped to make eye contact. ”And I’m perhaps a bit of a poet too.”

There wasn’t much more for him to add without prompt; he hadn’t made much of himself here – no fame or notoriety, not that he’d ever intended to find such things. ”How about yourself, Miss Lysis?” his smooth baritone returned the question. He assumed she had been in the pack longer than he had. Perhaps she had been born here, although she looked about the same age as Valentine. Then again, Valentine had never really specified whether he had started the pack or just taken it over.
