That kind of day

Rhythm would race quickly to her side, and Shaye would move forward to greet her Auntie, but before she knew it the older wolf was sliding down to the grass, crying at the smaller wolf's feet. Shaye paused, and just looked on in suprise for a moment, before frowning and bending down to nudge Rhythm. “This is so silly, everyone's all upset all the time, I wish they would just hug and get over it” Shaye sighed, very softly and almost to herself but no doubt Rhy could hear it.

The pup sat down on the grass and put her head gently over Rhythm's, feeling the movement of the crying wolf, the shaking of her panting breath and the beating of her heart. She sighed, and drew her in close. She had learnt in these last few months that crying didn't only happen when someone stubbed their toe, it happened when they hurt on the inside too, which was how Rhythm was feeling now. It wasn't until recently that Shaye actually got a taste of inside pain, and it left a bitter taste in her mouth to remember it. “Rhy, Mummy's really upset too. She found out I was coming here and she got really mad, and sad, and I think I understand a little better. She misses you very very much, and she's got too much pride all inside to say it and dosen't know how to fix it, and I don't know how to either because so much of mummy is pride, and it means she gets angry when it comes to things that upset her. I wish I could make this all better Rhy.” she said with a soft sigh, flopping all her weight against Rhy's shoulder.
