Valentine lay on his belly with a shrieking Angelus pinned beneath him. The bigger he got the more brazen the boy became. The brute had been sound asleep when a sharp pain in his haunch had startled him awake. He'd snapped around to find the pointy end of some kind of leaf buried in his skin. By the time he'd realized how it had gotten there the culprit was out of sight. Maybe he should have called the boy back, but he didn't. Instead he'd taken off after him and wrestled him to the ground. Once Angel was pinned Valentine settled into mercilessly chewing on his ears and (somewhat aggressively) tickling him. Kassander's call brought Valen's head up and his rump down. Beneath him, Angel groused about the sudden weight on his chest. Distracted, Valentine leaned down to rumble a word of warning before letting his son go. He then took off for the border.

Ah, there he was. "Kassander Xanilov," Valentine said warmly as he approached. Tail wagging lazily, he stopped before the auburn brute. "And what bring Ebony's King to Imperium on this fine day?" His eyes briefly went to the fox before returning to the mismatched gaze of the King. What brought Ebony's ruler to Imperium was a mystery to the Imperator. He assumed there was business to discuss, but what exactly, he couldn't say.
