Walk | Talk | Think

A little time had passed since the ex-Glaciem boy had become part of Threar's pack and he still could not get used to the place, though likely it was from a lack of trying. Everything felt awkward, everywhere felt strange, and everyone was regarded with a wary sort of curiosity. These wolves were his new pack now, and deep down Miksa did want to get to know them and become friends, but being thrown into the new setting so quickly had stolen his nerve and silenced his voice. Instead of making himself a socially inept problem for someone he ended up keeping to himself and choosing to settle in on his own. No sense putting anyone else out just because he was taking a while learning how to feel comfortable here.

The air was so different here too. It smelled of salt and sand, of even more strange things that Miksa had never experienced, and only just recently he had started to come down to the bay to sit and take it all in. Here he got a small taste of the life he had left behind in the chilling air that rolled in along with the waves, and the feel of it rustling his white coat left him with a case of homesickness. But this is home now, he thought, attempting to argue with his feelings, we don't have a home there anymore. And besides, even after everything he had done, he had not truly made Glaciem the home it had the potential to be. Perhaps it was only the memory of what could have been that haunted him so.

It was impossible to hear the other approach over the sound of the surf, nor could he detect her scent against the thick and heavy smells of the shoreline. Thankfully this was a safe place, a pack territory with borders to keep away the unruly and unkind, so he felt privileged in being able to sit there upon the sands and stare without worry at the waves. Miksa rolled his shoulders slightly, just a little movement to feel a little warmth, and because he had broken his concentrating stare he glanced around absentmindedly, promptly doing a double take the moment his yellow eyes alighted on the young Destruction girl who had gone with her father to Glaciem. He said nothing, but his curious gaze remained on her, wondering what it was she was doing out here when it seemed that everyone else was busy elsewhere.
