She was afraid...but she'd swallow that fear when he touched her. She allowed it, the physical touch comforting her and making her fears disappear. She wasn't going in alone, she had a friend to help her. She hoped the alphess would accept her, she needed a home and place to learn and grow. She couldn't do it alone, not as a loner. She missed pack life, missed being among others who wanted to help one another, but was this pack like that? She knew nothing of Yfir, nor the wolves who lived within let alone the alphess. What if this was a trick? No. She couldn't let herself believe that. She was tricked once, surely it wouldn't happen a second time...right?
She looked at Vereux, he seemed trustworthy enough. He wouldn't have made up such a wild story just to get her to trust him right? No, this had to be real. She was placing the little bit of trust she let out, in him. And if it was a trick, then maybe she wasn't meant to be in this existence...taking a deep breath, she sent a silent prayer to her father, wherever he was, to guide her. She nodded to Vereux, eyes closing as she took a moment to herself. Then finally, she'd tilt her head back and a howl was let loose. It was a howl that would strike a chord in her heart. A howl that was supposed to sound confident, but instead, sorrow had filtered through. |
