There would be too much of Motif in Vail, she herself remembered those early days of sneaking out to experience the world, to learn and play. She just didn't remember her parents panic, and never had Motif felt like this. She had woken to find her side empty and cold, and felt a shock of pain and worry through her heart so tangible she could swear he had just been stabbed in the heart. “Vail, Vail?? she cried wiping about in search of what she already knew wasn't there. Vail had gotten a taste of freedom, now it seemed she wasn't willing to give that up.

There was no sign of Shaye, Shai or Rhythm either, likely Shaye and Rhythm where off on a healing lesson and perhaps Shai was hunting. She felt their absence immediately in that moment. She knew how much she relied on them, they where her immediate family, the most important things in her life and who she relied on utterly during Vail's birthing, and none of them would be there in that moment to share her panic. Before her panic could get out of hand, she would hear soft giggling, and the gentle tones of another's voice, something about the word... play she let out a long, shuddering breath as she felt her heart slow to a normal rhythm and poked her head out of the den to see Lillian and Vail. She could easily guess what had happened, Vail had sneaked out and Lillian had seen her, and likely kept her occupied outside the den for a few moments which was how Motif had found them. Now that she wasn't a panicked mess, she could find humor and sweetness in the moment. She winked at Lillian as she cleared her throat. “Exactly who's idea was it to sneak out?” she asked, but she was already thinking it would be a wonderful idea for Lillian and Vail to play together, Lillian could keep her out of trouble and Motif... Motif would be stalking them from a distance without interfering. Hopefully her need to protect Vail would drop out of overdrive soon.. well, perhaps not, but she wouldn't let it ruin the girls chances to play and find her independence. It was important for Vail to see she could do things her own, and it wouldn't hurt her if she didn't know Motif was in the background, keeping her from harm.
