The boy would only tilt his head at her terrified reaction. He wouldn't apologize but obviously wasn't threatening. She calmed herself, stuttering at her first words but then easing more as she realized he meant no harm.

Well, duh. He could see she was looking at the island. He wanted to know why. Of course that wasn't his question to begin with. But she would ask is he was from Fiofi. And he was quick to answer.

"Oh, no. I live in the Weeping Woods." He would wait a second before continuing, "I'm actually looking for my brother." Like she cared but Amarant was easy to show his emotions. He didn't have a problem sharing anything with anyone. Honesty was a valuable trait to him.
