the lies we weave
YOUNG AND A MENACE
This place was intriguing. The only pack in the area, as far as they knew. Lurking on the borders, crown low betwixt muscled shoulders, the beast observed. Someone would come along eventually, caterwauling war cries. They were always so entertaining. The mortals, once collected in numbers, seemed to think themselves worth the fear of gods. Tongue would slither from their jaws, caressing the sides of their muzzle. Their blood would sate the hunger that always gnawed within the godling's chest. It was a different kind of want, from the urge to fuck and the urge to eat. This one was more difficult to quell.
Titanic form would slip along the border, checking the scents. A weak spot would be an invitation for the clan Abraxas to descend. Intentional or not, displays of foolishness and weakness like that would get one killed. There were many within these borders, for sure. Enough to hold back the children of the Fallen One? Unlikely. Mismatched gaze would fall upon the mass of stone and foliage. Now, if they could get themself inside to take a look, that would be marvellous. Surely something such as that would provide a lovely view, and a surefire way to close a deal. Taking someone back there to fuck would get them laid every night.
Crossing the borders was oh so tempting. A few steps, and the little mortals would quiver and quake with outrage. It brought a soft chuckle from their chest, lips twisting in a grin. Wouldn't that be something? Pyr would love it, for sure. Amon? Maybe. That one was situational, for sure. The golden deity wondered who would stumble upon them, and what they would do. Would they instigate a fight? Snarl and spit? Or, more interesting, would they stop for a chat with the interloper upon their borders? Excitement began to tingle within their tendons, anticipation getting the better of them.

An alert had been sent by his mother's bird as she was on her way back with food for Avalon. Dragon watched the direction she flew before turning his head towards the direction she came, ears flicking and green gaze hardened. Who was it? Were they here to join? Or perhaps spies or someone from the pack they had just raided? Curiosity and apprehension gripped him, so the male made his way quickly to the borders with Kimahri right beside him. It didn't take long for the earthen male to arrive, and who he saw at the borders was nobody he recognize. It was a male (or female? idk) practically toeing his borders, and almost immediately he grew stiff in his movements up until he arrived, where he then forced himself to relax a bit. He eyed the stranger, noting he was a couple of inches taller but not really anything he was worried about. Kimahri paused beside him, tail flickering with anticipation. What did this stranger want? "You're dangerously close to my borders, stranger...what brings you here?" Dragon's voice was cool, though there was the hint of warning on the winds as well. |

Someone appeared, in the form of a smaller and brutish male. The godling eyed him, mismatched gaze roving to the odd beast that trailed along beside him. A cat of some sort, that was definitely lurking quite close. Not something they had seen before. Interesting. The male spoke, providing a clue to his identity. The golden deity lifted their crown, tilting it to the side curiously. "These are your borders, are they?" They questioned, brow quirked. Despite the beast that lurked so closely, they were far from afraid.
"My sister told me of a pack here, and I was curious. It is not often others dare remain so close to the clan, and thus your pack had piqued my interest." They rumbled, casting their gaze towards the stone monolith nearby. In all truth, they were no longer interested in the wolf that had come to meet them at the border. While the companion was something out of the ordinary, the male wasn't all that impressive to them. What held their attention, more or less, was elsewhere now. "What does this pack call itself, anyway?" The beast asked absently, frowning to themself. It was of importance to gather information, as they had promised Amon. However, this one looked like a goody two shoes. Justice and love and all that shit.

The other male seemed...strange. Not afraid but seemed as if he were searching for something? Regardless of why he was here, Dragon would be careful. So when the other brute questioned the borders, he nodded. "They are." He stood there, green gaze watching this male's every move. He didn't think he'd try anything, but even loners tried their luck. Like Mercy had with his mother. He wouldn't let a mistake like that happen, oh no. When the man spoke again, Dragon's ear tilted forward. His sister? He tested the air around him, and sure enough...a scent he recognized. Someone he'd come across not once, but twice at least. "Nice to know that Pyralis is spreading the news that my pack resides here. I was not aware that your...clan lived in Auster as well." Of course not! He'd never heard of another pack or anything like that in these lands, nor seen any. He explored the lands in Auster quite often, so how had he missed them if it was an established clan?
Whatever this man chose to do with that information was up to him, but he'd make it a point that they were no push overs. He wouldn't be impolite, not in the slightest. He'd just be careful with what was said here. If Pyralis had other family living as close as this male said, then who knew what would happen. Though he did quite enjoy his run ins with Pyralis, she had even come by with an offering of a strange bird whose name he forgot. But regardless, this male seemed different then Pyralis. She at least seemed normal and a bit easier to talk to. "Talis has been here for almost two years now, we're the only pack in Auster and have been since our arrival here." |

The male was not fearful, as he should be. Frustrating, in a quiet sort of way. Putting him in his place would be decadent. However, the godling knew better. They needed information, and they needed the strong forces of the clan to bring down an empire, even a small one such as this. Rushing so foolishly into a battle would only earn the ire of the clan, and the loss of said battle. "Nice to know that Pyralis is spreading the news that my pack resides here. I was not aware that your...clan lived in Auster as well." The male said, diplomatic of tone. Scrutinizing the structure behind the man, the deity wondered what could have borne such a thing. They must have it. Own it. Claim it as their own. It was fantastic and lavish and so blatantly gaudy that it called to them all at once. A shiver ran down their spine, quivering in the muscles of their limbs and begging them to move on it.
Attention would snap to the male, mismatched gaze of fire and ice fixed upon his features. Distractions, distractions. "Yes, we have been gathering a little ways away. A family this large, it takes time to gather everyone up, you see." A soft smirk, cocky and fearless. An unabashed wink, tossed out as carelessly as a rose to the matadors. Rustling feathers, like always. It was more fun to leave anxiety in their hearts, to fret in the calm before the storm. Nervous wrecks piling onto the battlefield were easier to slaughter, like innocent lambs.
"Talis has been here for almost two years now, we're the only pack in Auster and have been since our arrival here." The leader insisted. Ah, so he was no fool. He offered up words to his own strengths. Smart boy, he was. A soft hum of contemplation, coupled with a bob of the head. "I see." They rumbled, eyes sliding partways shut for a moment. "This is quite the territory to hold, it appears. Auster is magnificent, and untameable- as nature always is." They crooned, vaguely turning their attention to the surrounding area. They truly enjoyed Auster, and had found Boreas to be favourable as well. Who was to say they couldn't aid the clan in finding footholds there, too?

Ears shifted slightly atop his head as he watched the male, watching him ever so carefully. He noticed him looking at his castle, the alpha tilting his head slightly as his gaze fell on the castle before shifting back to the wolf before him. "Magnificent, isn't it? It took a while to appeal to the spirits that live within it so they wouldn't tear our throats out in our sleep, but they seem to have taken a liking to us." He turned to fully face the male again, "It took much effort. They don't seem to like strangers much." His voice had yet to be laced with any sort of threat. After all, he had no reason to yet. Not unless they decided to push their boundaries.
And when they mentioned how long it took to gather such a large family, Dragon would nod. "I understand. I too have gone far and wide gathering my bloodline. We are quite large a family, and we've been successful so far, in having most of us here." They seemed to be trying to intimidate him, but oh how they'd be sorely disappointed to know that he wasn't falling for their tricks. His gaze was unwavering, almost daring the other to try something. Though it would be foolish on their part to do so against the Alpha of a pack. Much less on his borders where anyone from his pack could come by.
They made a comment about nature, Dragon's stature tall and unwavering to match his stone cold exterior. What was this male trying to play at? Intimidation never worked on him, never had. "Nature is an incredible force. I've seen with my own eyes what it could do, especially in the north where avalanches and landslides often happen. But I'm sure as a loner, you already know that." |
