Pestilence had returned home more scared then she'd been since the volcano erupted. In hindsight, it was probably a bad idea to start sharing such blasphemous information with another pack even if it was true, though she'd never thought on how her mother would feel if it ever got back to her. The disappointment in Deathbelle's eyes was something she'd never seen directed at her before, and Pestilence hated the way it made her feel.

The pup lay dejectedly beside the shrine, awaiting her mothers return so that they might have the dreaded conversation that was promised. The volcano stared down at her and Pesilence glared back, her tiny body filling with hatred and shame and frustration. It all bubbled up at once and she cried out loudly in anger before covering her snout with her paws.

After the warrior training Hannibal realized he needed to spend more time with the youth of the pack. He had spent most of his time tending to Belle, the inner workings of the pack, patrolling, and hunting. He felt as though it would be a positive to get closer to those who they will pass the torch to in years to come. That was why he had sought out both Recluse and Gimli in attempt to stitch something together with his own kids. Though, those optimistic thoughts were shifted as a familiar scent filled his nose. Hannibal slowed his steps and allowed pale optics to scan the surrounding area. Initially the beast didn't catch anything but then noticed the towering pillars of stone in the distance and figured Pestilence could be lingering around the shrine. Thus, lithe strides were made towards the vibrant waters.

Per usual memories flooded in as he moved closer to the shrine. It was where he and Nepthys had many conversations. A burning sensation filled his chest as he though to the mother of his children before rage flashed beneath that haunting gaze. Betrayal is what he truly felt. Though, Hannibal shook off the negativity as he took in the sight of a sulking sapling and her ferocious shout. A pale brow raised as he bounded closer, only ceasing his steps as he was about five tail length away from her. Hannibal cocked his head to the side and stared down at her with curious eyes. "So young and already full of such obvious rage." Hannibal lowered himself into a seated position, "What is it that pains you so?" Out of anyone he knew what she was feeling.

Pestilence had hardly noticed her uncle's approach, it was not until his questioning voice broke through the silence that she looked up at him from beneath her paws. The pup watched him in silence for the first few moments, wondering what his reaction would be and whose side he would be on in their mother daughter feud. Hannibal was her uncle and a fierce warrior. He took no shit, he'd be on her side right? Pestilence grumbled softly, then rose from the dirt to sit before him.

She considered her words carefully, and then spilled. "Mom's really mad at me. I fucked up, and now I'm waiting to hear where she'll be digging my grave." It silently thrilled the pup that she could use her new-found swear words and wit she'd stolen from the blue man; she'd been much too worried to speak this way to her mother but Uncle Hannibal seemed cool enough that he might approve. Or, you know, he might not.

Hannibal's dual toned tail flicked as he watched the young Klein. Grumbles came forth as she raised herself into a seated position. The male listened with a curious gaze as the young gal began to speak. Venom and crude word choice spewed from her jaws with such carelessness. Hannibal hadn't heard anything about the mother-daughter quarrel nor would he necessarily pry to uncover information from the young girl. Deathbelle was one of the few Wolves he respected fully and if she wanted to relay information of such then she would have done so. In most situations he would be itching to chip away at his prey and feast upon the nuggets of information once they were revealed.

What truly made the pale beast bristle with Pest's wording. The profanity came as a shock to the male for he had still seen the girl as a pup. When he was growing up as a Prince manners and true eloquence were chiseled into his brain from a young age. His parents would have ripped his crown from atop his head and the tongue from his disgraceful mouth if they had heard such foulness. Obviously with time he has come to be more relaxed with his vocabulary but it was still a rarity to hear the piebald Prince curse. One of the few good habit the serpent maintained.

With all of that being said Hannibal's eyes seemed to ignite with mild annoyance. A lip twitched upward to expose the tips of pointed fangs as he leaned forward ever so slightly. The high points of his shoulders and spine protruding from his scabby back. In that moment he looked more of a ghoul then his usual pristine self. Deep vocals slithered from his rigid jaws, "I've not a clue what you have done to deserve the wrath of your mother for it matters not." Hannibal sneered through his speech, "Speaking like a common degenerate is not an appropriate way to get your point across." A pink tongue ran across upper fangs. "Profanity is used by those who lack intelligence. If I do recall correctly neither Kleins nor Abraxas suffer from mental ailments..." A pause. "Unless you consider religious ramblings as disease." Front paws flexed as pink pads gripped the dirt. "You must learn to turn that foul tongue into silver." With that Hannibal sat tall once again with his chin elevated. Piercing pale eyes gazed into her own as he offered final words, "Do you wish to rephrase your previous statement?"

The response that burned in her uncle's eyes grasped within her and Pestilence clambered quickly to her feet, skittering a few steps backwards. Her body sunk low as his lip revealed the ivory points behind it and flinched as his sneer breached the silence. Cream-tipped tail tucked tightly beneath her. "I'm sorry." Pestilence's words were a whisper, her tone shifting quickly from fear to disappointment in herself. He spoke further on the topic, and Pesto swallowed hard. Lack of intelligence? That didn't seem right, the blue male came across as intelligent to her and he used more profanity then he did consonants.

She lifted a paw to swipe at her nose, sniffing back her unshed tears before she peered upwards to meet his firm gaze. "I don't know how to phrase it that will get the point across on how badly I screwed up." She admitted. It was true, this wasn't a situation of 'I pushed my sister and got a timeout,' how did adults emphasize their words if not with crude direct words? Her small shoulders shrugged slowly, remembering how badly she'd hurt her mother and believing wholeheartedly that 'fucked up' was appropriate in this situation.

Sharp eyes took in the cowering form of his Alpha's daughter. Hannibal was very aware that he was rather harsh but did not care in the slightest. He would not allow the royal spawn of Deahtbelle and Archon slither around with foul mouthes and ill manners. Despite his half-sibling taking the Empire for herself he was still a Prince of Klein and cared deeply for the portrayal and longevity of his prestigious bloodline. But, as Pestilence offered tear riddled apologies and an explanation for her ignorance Hannibal offered a small nod. He understood how she felt after all and was but a mere pup.

Despite his previous hesitations for prying answers from the young gal she was clearly distraught and felt that he could perhaps offer advice if nothing else. Thus, Hannibal would lift more deep vocals into the air. This time with much less venom and more of a serious air to them. "What have you done?" Hannibal has committed countless horrors in his time and would keep his mind open for what his niece would have to say.

Hannibal asked her what she had done, and Pestilence's head hung once more. She murmured under her breath, then cleared her throat and spoke louder so he could hear her. "I tried to run away, and a Legion wolf wanted to bring me home." Her words were hesitant, almost unwilling to explain further. The young pup had not been so ashamed of her actions in her life, and a large part of her did not want her uncle to look down on her as her mom must have in that moment.

After a few more soft murmurs she continued, gaze still upon her paws. "I tried to convince her to not bring me back, and so I told her that mother sacrificed father to the volcano and that I was next." It wasn't the whole story, she decided to leave out the many horrid things she'd said about Abraxas and the 'devout' followers in Ashen. Hannibal from what she was aware was not a very religious wolf, though she doubted he'd approve of her placing the Kleins in a bad light alongside the Abraxas worshippers.
