He wasn’t sure if he felt better or worse after encountering the wraith that was Recluse. His frustration only grew when he left the hot springs though, and he hadn’t realized which direction he was going and now he was much too close to his birth place than was comfortable. Noir shook himself of the feeling as he lowered himself into the shade of a huge mangrove tree. He’d been awake all night, and though he didn’t feel like he’d be able to sleep with both eyes open rest called to him desperately.
Summer settled in the branches above, her form blending in with the shadows as well as Noir did in the foliage below. She would sound the alarm if anyone drew near, though he didn’t trust her not to make a stop at their once home. These days she was much more loyal to him, not having much other choice. Still Noir didn’t trust anyone, especially not his raven.
With a sigh he lay his head heavily on his paws and lowered his eyelids while his ears continued to swivel around for any sign of another presence. Maybe he wouldn’t sleep but he’d get some rest.
