Chimera had been furious when Viper's selfish jealousy rose. She had attacked another again because she was too stupid to use her words. He had been livid and had honestly considered just ripping her to shreds and being done with it. Something had stopped him though. He genuinely cared about the little moron. That was why he decided to seek her out the following evening. He had needed time to decompress and he believed that she did as well.
The woman was so round in pregnancy that she couldn't go far and the scent of her pregnancy was so strong that Chimera had no problem in finding her. The brute towered over her as he came to a stop, the evening light behind him to cast his face in shadow. "Viper," he greeted her. "We need to talk." He would wait to see what kind of mood she was in before he starting speaking. If she wasn't willing to meet him halfway here... then all of this was pointless.

Even after yesterday's events, Viper still went about her day as she normally would. The weather wasn't bad last night to sleep under the trees of the island, it was what she was used to before her life with Chimera at least. She had planned to make her own den still on the island. She was mad at Chimera, but she wasn't completely done with him. He was all she had, she had said she loved him, called him her family. But after seeing what he would do for Aliana, fighting her for the den rights, for her own freedom, she believed he didn't feel the same. And any normal woman may have fought for the father of their children to be, well, a father. She didn't feel that way. The puppies in her had nothing to do with everything going on or her feelings. They were... nothing. After her run she came inland and laid down in the grasses of the island to relax. When Chimera approached her she didn't look bothered. Only when he spoke did she turn her head to him. She didn't look angry, but she wasn't happy, clearly. Her expression was completely straight. She nodded gently inviting him with her and looked back forward to the trees out to the beach. "Chimera" -- "Viper"

Viper still looked slightly miffed, but she welcomed him anyway. Taking the invitation, the huge brute moved forward. Chimera lay down beneath the trees and used one paw to pull Viper down with him. He curled his big body around her, pressing her to his belly and chest. In a very un-Chimera-like manner, he nuzzled into the back of the woman's white tipped ear with his speckled nose.
Chimera didn't like all of the tension on the island. He just wanted all of the women to get along. They didn't even have to be around one another aside from sleeping on opposite sides of the den. If it made him happy, how was it a bad thing? Viper and Ali would both receive his attention, his affection, his protection. He just needed different things from each of them. To him, it made complete sense. To Viper, it obviously didn't.
Holding the woman close with his powerful forelegs, it took Chimera a moment to sort his thoughts and find his voice. Being open and vulnerable was hard. "Viper," he began in his typical, growling purr. "If I didn't care about you, you wouldn't be here." There was something in the woman that drew him to her and to this day he couldn't really pinpoint what it was. Viper had something in her that Chimera needed. "All that I had growing up was Siren." Siren was the only constant in his life. Siren was Chimera's beating heart. "When I find a wolf that calls to me, I need to keep them close." It was no secret that he was filled with anger, hatred and disdain for most wolves.
The brutes big arms gave the pregnant fae another squeeze as he spoke. "I need you, Viper. I need to keep you safe and close." This would be the hard sell and he honestly wasn't sure how she would take it. "But I need Aliana as well. And Siren. I need you all in different ways, for different reasons, but I love each of you. Do you understand?" Chimera said the L-word. He was baring his fucking soul here. Would she bare hers as well or would she throw his voluntary vulnerability back in his face?

When Chimera grabbed her and pulled her in, she struggled a little at first. She didn't want to touch him, but he already had a hold of her. So she relaxed after a couple pushes, letting him nuzzle her. Viper stayed silent as he spoke. Though her silence sometimes aggravated him, at least she would never interrupt him in the middle of his statements. Aliana was consistently thinking that Viper was disrespecting him. But was it disrespectful for her to show how she felt? Whether that was how she acted or what she said? Viper would have given Chimera nearly anything, and she had some lines drawn. She never knew what a life like this would give her, but she discovered what she wanted as time went on. Viper had listened intently to what Chimera told her, even if she wasn't looking at him. "Chimera," She started quiet, "I'm not pretty. I'm not gentle. I'm not... smart." Viper had a lot of insecurities that she almost never showed. It's why she used physical force to show her feelings, she didn't have anything else, in her mind. "I will never be okay with what I've been telling you I'm okay with." The confession was almost hard for her to get out, she didn't want to lose Chimera and that's why she kept telling him that what he did outside of the den was okay. "It's easy for me to ignore what I don't want. But I can only take so much." She struggled as she took a breath in, and it waved out of her. Viper didn't cry, she never did, but it was evident just how upset she was in this exact moment. "My name is Nuada. My father left his pack and me and my mother would have rather sulked and died than take care of me. You had Siren. I had no one. I had to live and learn on my own through my whole life. You say you need more. I don't, I only need one. I only need you. But I will survive as I have everything else if I don't have you." "Chimera" -- "Viper"

She started with a list of short comings and insecurities and Chimera gave his head a single, brisk shake. "Whatever you think is wrong with you, those things don't matter to me." The beast threatened to smother her with his gargantuan frame. "I need you, Viper." He was incapable of seeing things from her point of view. To him, she was simply being jealous and stubborn. She said that she needed him too, but not enough to make little concessions to keep him. It didn't make sense to the man.
It was obvious how difficult it was for her to speak the words that she shared with him and he was proud of her for speaking them so clearly. Mismatched ears listened as the woman gave her true name and her upbringing. She'd had a sad start to life, but she was doing very well for herself now. The past shouldn't matter. Only the present and future.
One paw drifted down to rest upon the fae's swollen belly. It was the first time that he'd even acknowledged her pregnancy. Even now he didn't do it for himself, but for her. "You would have me give up others in my life who are important and I cannot do that, Viper. You are equally as important." From his place above her, the brute's gaze steeled over as his walls began closing down once more. Somehow, he already knew that she would deny him. "The only way that you end up alone is if you choose to be alone." And may the gods help her if she did.

She twitched as Chimera touched her stomach, it was something she wasn't used to. She had, since she found out she was pregnant, not once acknowledged that she was. She couldn't deny feeling sick or weaker, but she never let it get in her way of her everyday life. She never let it make her weak. She looked at Chimera as he spoke again, though still without a true emotion on her face, "I didn't ask you to give up anyone." And she didn't. "I told you what I need to be okay. Even if it isn't." If Chimera had just given Aliana her own den, not even that, if he had just kept her where she was with the dogs, than they would have never had this problem. Or, Chimera would never really know how she felt. "But you fighting me to cage me makes me think that she is more important." She sighed as she looked away from him, back into the trunks of the trees and the shoreline past. "I did not ever chose to be alone. When I went to be with someone they caged me. Please don't do the same again." "Chimera" -- "Viper"

There she went, bringing up the past again. Chimera didn't care about her past. He didn't care about his own past. He lived in the here and now. What did stand out was that Viper thought that Aliana was more important. "She's not more important but you can't solve everything by ripping my companions to shreds, Viper." He understood anger and fury and solving things by physical means, but she should know by now that it wasn't acceptable from one of his women. Especially when it was directed at another of his women.
The pregnant woman spoke of being caged and she begged him not to do the same to her. Something reared up within Chimera and his teeth flashed for a moment. He had to resist the urge to sink those teeth into Viper's flesh as she lay pressed against him. She infuriated him. Incensed him like no other was capable of. Maybe that was why he loved her. It was the only reason that he could think of. Someone able to rouse such primal emotion in him had to be special.
Chimera curled his forelegs around Viper's body and pulled her closer still, squeezing, crushing, consuming. "Then don't ever leave me, Viper." The man growled low in her ear. "If you leave me, I'll hunt you to the ends of the earth. I'll drag you back here. I'll snap your legs so that you never run again." Chimera's purring growl continued as he swung one hind leg over the woman's hips. "You belong to me, Viper. Me and no other. Do you understand?"
Now that he was positioned above her, Chimera latched his teeth into the small woman's scruff, holding her still as he pressed his way inside. The bastard was careful because she was pregnant, but he was intent on showing her that she was his. That he needed her. Viper belonged to him no matter where she went or what she thought. She was his.

She didn’t believe him. But she couldn’t press anymore about it. Not after the way he threatened her. He may have been speaking through a way of his heart, but it didn’t translate that way. Not to Viper. He wanted her so bad that he would do all this to make her stay. But she believed that she should want to stay. Just like she told him about not wanting him to cage her. Maybe it was why he gave Aliana ‘freedom’, he knew she wouldn’t leave if he did. It really pissed Viper off. Clearly, if only through her own eyes, Chimera did care for Aliana more than herself if giving her freedom made her still stay with probably not even a thought. It made her feel like she was missing out on something, like she really was a second choice. Siren was never a thought in her mind of course. Chimera positioned himself over her, grabbing onto her before proceeding gently, "Chimera..." she stopped herself from telling him no. He had full control of her, he could kill her right now if he wanted. And she never realized just how dangerous he was until this moment. He may have been gentle, careful because of the babies she was carrying for herself, but she didn’t like it. She didn’t like him. But it wasn’t like when they were in front of Aliana. She couldn’t fake enjoyment, but she didn’t fight him. -Fade- "Chimera" -- "Viper"

When Chimera was finished, he pulled away from Viper. He had tried so hard to be gentle, to show how much he cared in his own way. Even though he had been inside her and had gone easy, Viper hadn't been receptive. He'd picked up on that right away, but he was too far gone to stop and was only able to do so after he finished. "I just don't understand you," he growled softly before getting to his paws. To Chimera, it felt as though he was bending over backwards for the woman and she just wasn't meeting him in the middle.
He had one last idea and if she didn't like that, then he would give up trying to please her. "You and Aliana could swap nights in the den. I could dig a second one nearby." They would both be able to have personal time with him that way but wouldn't have to be physically near one another. The man was at his wits end with this whole situation. He just wanted to be happy and wanted everyone that was important to him to be happy as well.

Chimera felt the shift in her emotions, but still went on. They were both strangely wired wolves. Though Viper only edged on wanting a somewhat normal life even if she didn't quite know what that was. Maybe it was hidden back deep in her memory, a time when Tyranis and Aranea were together, she had her brother, she lived a happy and carefree life. She couldn't relate that short lived childhood now a days. It seemed she was still fending, fighting for what she wanted and her survival. And it was probably something Chimera would never understand. Just like she could never understand what he needed in his life. Viper stayed where she laid, her head turning towards him as he spoke but she wouldn't look him in the eye. "Okay." She agreed though reluctantly at heart. "But I'll dig a den." She wanted that own sense of security, that she was able to provide for herself this way, with what Chimera had taught her. But if Chimera still insisted on digging a den, she was digging one of her own. She didn't want to share more than what was offered with the cowardous bitch. "Chimera" -- "Viper"

Viper turned her head away from him and Chimera's ears tucked back against his skull. Was this the end? Was she going to deny him openly? The man was more than surprised when she agreed to his suggestion. His dual toned eyes rested upon the small fae hard for a moment. She continued to say that she would dig a den of her own. Chimera huffed softly, the corners of his maw lifting just a bit. "I thought you didn't know how to dig a den." He teased lightly. She had let herself freeze out in the snow. That was what had started this whole thing. She'd come to him for help and she'd never left. Viper was his woman whether she wanted to admit it or not. "We could dig it together if you'd like."
"You've made me happy," he admitted, coming forward to nuzzle the top of the woman's dark head. The anxiety that risen in him was something that he wasn't used to and didn't like. He'd been abandoned as a child by his mother, his father, his brother. He didn't want to be abandoned by Viper, one of the only wolves that he allowed close to him.
Though he'd initially planned to leave, now that Viper acquiesced to his wishes, he needed to stay. Chimera once again lowered himself to the earth beside the small woman and pulled her in close. He didn't want to cage her but he didn't want to lose her either. If she was willing to meet him half way like this, then they would both be able to find some happiness. He hoped, at least.
Chimera buried his nose in the thicker russet fur at the back of Viper's neck, inhaling her familiar scent. His eyes closed and a low rumble pulled from him. Draping one arm over the woman, he held her to him. He truly did love her in his own way. "Thank you," he said so softly that one may have thought that he didn't want her to hear him. The proud bastard.
