OOC: I’m jumping forward a step to make this meeting optional. Feel free to post here if your wolf has something to say, or would like to volunteer to help in the clean up!

There was warmth to the air, despite the beginning of winter that had descended upon the land. The thought of the coming chill brought impatience to his veins. He did not want his wolves caught out in the open, in the transit between lands if true chill settled on the earth. This had to be done quickly, and it was that thought in his mind as the last of his howl faded in the air.

A glance beside him confirmed that Azure stood there still. The wolf of equal height, and the one that should have been his first born. He let his eyes drift back across the plains. Fondness in his eyes as he considered the long grass, and waited for his wolves to travel through it.

It wasn’t long before they were there. He glanced across them then. Family. All of them. Some of them were born of his blood, and others forged by it. “I’ve come to announce a change. The likes of which have not touched the Armada since the day of its creation” he said, letting his words roll across them all with fondness. Fondness for what this pack had become, what it could be, and the wolves in it. “The lands here have become crowded. Too many packs have settled near us, our movement constricted. More than that, the Armada is ready for a change. To become something more. This pack has been in the process of changing since the day it was born. Today, we unfurl our wings and become something more.” He promised them. “Azure and I have scouted new lands to the North. A warren of dens fit to house an army, and an abundance of woodland for exploring, hunting and growth. This isn’t the only change Armada will face, but it is perhaps one of its greatest. In light of the move, we will be announcing new ranks on our arrival, and moving the Armada in a new directive. We will speak more of these changes on our arrival. Lastly, I would like to promote Ruga to Master at Arms, Grimshaw to Howler, and Halo to Trauma specialist. The three of you have earned it.” He said, looking at the wolves as he spoke. There would be a little more to say about their ranks, but he would do so on arrival. For now, it was enough for them to know they had earned it. ”Once this meeting concludes, the moving will begin. So if you have something to say, speak now or hold your peace.”

Standing beside his father, Azure felt nearly humbled. This would be the first important leadership decision he had a hand in, and it was one of the harshest changes the Armada had ever been tasked to adapt to. Looking over the pack sparked a multitude of thoughts and feelings and most alarmingly, an empathy he’d never thought he’d ever find for the wolves that called these plains home.

“We know it will be a particularly difficult change for some.” He added, observing the gathered wolves mildly and trying his best not to linger his gaze too long upon any particular member. “However, we have faith in your strength and in your tenacity. The northern territories are not the kindest to live alongside, though the mountain we intend to claim is less harsh than you might anticipate. Our new home is as unique and durable as each of you have shown yourselves to be, I trust you will all give this change the fair consideration it deserves.”

Clearing his throat, Azure allowed the silence to linger before continuing into the next topic on the agenda. “It has been brought to our attention that certain packs, who do not have the pleasure to call us allies, believe they know more of the Armada than they have right to. While we do not believe there is any truth to this speculation, it does bring up an important consideration on what we decide to leave behind.” The Armada did not have as high a turnover as some packs might, and Azure supposed that their rigid set of rules regarding a wolf’s departure lended to that stability. While a few members over the last few years had vanished suddenly without the required challenge, it was unlikely they’d have made their way to Armada’s enemies as traitors without leaving a trace. Regardless, the alpha’s had made the decision that leaving as little behind as possible was the best approach. “We’ll need all hands on deck to deconstruct what remains here, as well as to improve upon our new home when the time comes. Den sites must be collapsed where possible and any lingering structures reduced to rubble. We do not need to give our enemies an accurate count of our numbers nor any insight towards our daily activities.” Though Azure did not believe in the carrot over the stick and thus would not voice as much aloud, the alpha pair had negotiated benefits for those who took on more than their share of the volunteer work.

"Speech"

Both of Azure's ears have notches and tears.
Az has a scar across his right eye, a mirror image of his natural born marking.
Azure has saber fangs, bone spurs on his elbows and knees, and the paws/forelimbs of a bear.
Not all of these features are always reflected in his art.

Azure's companions are a very big bat and a young clouded leopard, unless otherwise stated assume they're not with him.

Kotori made his way to the meeting, his jog was with slow intent strides filled with confidence and no shortage of pride in himself.  Stepping up his attention is focused between father and brother as the message is given.  The shock they were moving was balanced with some indignance that no one had told him in advance.  Well, looking past the irritation of just now learning of it with the rest of the pack, he pondered over the words that the champion and warlord spoke.
Kotori was young but the moment he’d been allowed to roam Kotori had spent more time outside of the pack than in it until a couple of seasons ago.  He had been farther north and was aware of how cold some of the regions did get.  He had been through forests and caves.  Which area had they chosen?  Kotori was aware of where mountains and forest met up north but that didn’t mean it was the spot they chose versus some other he hadn’t seen.  This was good.  The young adult was ready to be somewhere new, the place he grew up was familiar and boring.

This would also be a good chance to prove how well he could handle himself.  Kotori could prove he was a true Fatalis.  His pure blood of a prince that matched his mind and strength should be more than a lieutenant.  There would be lots of work to do, plenty of delegating to do, and training others. Giving orders would be the best part of it.  As to what part he’d take for now?  Kotori spoke up looking toward their leaders, “I’ll get to work on demolishing dens.  Unless you had plans for him elsewhere I’ll have Bas assist.”

Aris sigh and roused herself out of her den at her father's call. She'd been brooding there alone - having chased away both Tansy and Dirk with her snappishness - ever since the raid, but it sounded important. Well, really any meeting her dad called she'd have answered because duty had to come before moping, but it sounded especially important. Rumpled and dusty she made her way to the meeting and slouched there to wait.

What the meeting was about had her sitting back up blinking. They were moving? At first she was skeptical about the idea. They'd been here her whole life, they'd changed the lands to suit them over the course of literally generations. How would they replicate that in another land? And way up in the cold, snowy north too.

But the more she thought about it the less crazy it sounded. They'd have a harder time finding certain herbs for the healers with the growing season so short, but she'd always preferred to go off adventuring to find them anyway so she could just bring them back with her. And more importantly it would be a fresh start. Sure they'd be leaving behind places that held a million good memories, but they'd be leaving behind places that held a million bad memories, too. No more passing the spot where they'd buried the bodies her father had been convinced were her mother and brother. No more memories of passing the favorite places of siblings who didn't even stick around. Everything started off clean and fresh. Maybe she'd have a chance to finally prove herself, too. Have people view her for who she was, and not who she wasn't. Maybe even figure out who she was, herself.

She suddenly found herself wildly impatient with waiting for the meeting to finish so they could go.
