Open fighting training with no actual combat loool.
I'll put up a Halo response after 3 characters join (other than Dread), but I'm happy to run this training again if there's interest ^^

There were pups within the new litter that couldn't see so well, at least during the day. That, and there was another who couldn't necessarily use all of his legs to the fullest capability... Halo worried. Halo would always worry. There was also the question of those like Basilisk, who were far larger than average, and could incur additional damage to his joints if things went awry. Would there be pups near to his size in this litter too? Worry. So much worry. All Halo could do was give them the proper skills to avoid injury, right?

It was dusk when she set about arranging things. Mr. Raccoon by her side, they found a small, flat rock beside a slightly larger one. The first came up to roughly her knee, the second her shoulder. This was good. It was around this time that Dread appeared, a pup that seemed to exist in her periphery, in her shadow. A good boy, from what she could tell, though he didn't talk much. With his help, she spread several large, fluffy pelts beneath each of the boulders. These would serve to pad the ground, provide a cushion for them to fall to. Yes. They would learn how to fall properly, and do as little damage to themselves as possible. Early evening had come, and the warm glow of the fire cast long shadows around them. Hopefully this would be enough to draw both Vanta and Kite in, as it seemed this was when their vision was... better.

"Would you like to help me call?" Halo looked to Dread where he stood, sniffing at the pelts. He nodded. Together they called. Maybe a strange call for Halo in particular to make, but it was clear-- this was a fighting lesson.

Halo was always doing weird stuff. This evening, she'd been dragging pelts out and into the common area of the Col. Weird, but maybe she had her reasons. The little wolf seemed to be struggling, along with the not so adequate help of her companion. Dread couldn't very well let her keep struggling on her own... nah, they'd struggle together. Though it took some extra pulling and tugging, and maybe some stumbling and tripping, it seemed like the weird, pale woman eventually thought the job done well enough. Why were they dragging extra bedding outside? Was Halo going to sleep out here? While weird... heck, maybe it sounded nice? Dread didn't know really what she had planned.

Still, he'd help her call out to the others. Oh. That made more sense... sort of? They were going to do a fighting training, but Halo... she didn't look like much of a fighter. She seemed too mild mannered, too meek. Did she even know how to fight? Dread couldn't be so sure. Only time would tell, and their call echoed through the Col. Really, he'd come to like the time like this best of all. Dusk, with the bats flying overhead and the fire sending dancing shadows against the rocky boundary of the Col itself. It was a good time to be out, and maybe if they were with Halo they could have some extra time to stay up past their usual... right?

Vanta had been exploring her new found freedom along with the companions inherited down to her, with the promise that they would be her second (and third) set of eyes and ensure her safety during the daylight. Already her brow was sore from squinting into the light, and as the call rang out at dusk she had already been headed toward bed. The girl hesitated at the steps at the base of the stone staircase (considering heavily on whether her participation would even be beneficial) until the toucan gave her a gentle nudge of his crystalline beak. Vanta had full faith in her mother's companions, and at his urging, turned to join the forming group.

Settling in beside Dread, she plopped to her rear and readied herself for the lesson. Around her neck the snake coiled tighter in a brief embrace, while the toucan took to the obelisk peak to wait and watch. "Is this a napping lesson?" She asked, eyeing the fluffy pelts.

It is twilight, the moment in the day that must pass so that stars may shine through. Andromeda slowly walks around the col, stopping here and there to watch wolves go about their chores with a silent intensity that one her age might not normally have. Standing close enough to the firepit to watch a wolf feed logs into the fire it while still remaining a safe enough distance away, the purple pup’s head suddenly snaps around at the sound of a call.

Without a word, without even glancing back, Andy trots off, pondering what her brother and the stranger have in store for her. It doesn’t take long for the purple pup to arrive at the make-shift training area, ears swiveling to catch the soft sounds of the bats that fly overhead while her pale blue eyes inspect the numerous pelts spread around the boulders.

Looking to where the pale wolf, her brother, and sister are, Andromeda quickly moves to join her siblings. Ah, Dread. The only one of littermates that seems to appreciate the subtle art of silence as much as her. However, where Dread can lack emotion when looking at someone, Andy is the opposite, her eyes sometimes showing too much of what she feels.

With a gentle smile to the small, pale woman, Dread, and Vanta, the purple pup takes a seat near them, ready to participate in whatever they have in store for her. The spot between her ears suddenly throbs for a moment and Andromeda wonders why it keeps hurting, not knowing that soon two small bumps will appear where her horns will sprout from.

Andy has an Eastern Chanting Goshawk named Aquila and two Snow Leopards named Leo and Gemini. They are always nearby.

Makara had been curious about the pack's new additions. Sure, she'd seen them scuttling about, but she had been hesitant to intervene. Their parents watched them like hawks anyway. When Halo called from a recess in the Col, Mak was intrigued. The pleasant call beckoned for a lesson - and she was technically still learning - so she figured it was as good a time as any to introduce herself to the squeaky little newcomers and maybe lend a helping hand. She trotted up, pawsteps softened by her boots, just as the trio of little ones got settled. "Hello, need an extra set of paws?" she asked, wiggling each front paw in turn.
