The young woman raced back to her home. It was getting late and the sun was setting, so she knew she had even less time than she thought. 'Bother, why was I so stupid!' She thought. Her legs were spindly and long and so they carried her at a good clip for a yearling, but nothing near as fast as an adult. She had been in the woods seeing if she could catch a bird for the past several hours. It was tricky business catching birds! Of course, she had heard the call of her alpha Chrysanthe, but she had not recognized it as important at the time. Silly girl! So now here she was running as fast as she could towards her home so she could find Chrysanthe and explain.

Whatever had possessed her to think that the Alpha of Valhalla would give her a personal audience after she had blatantly disobeyed orders was beyond her, but that's what she thought was best and she was going to do her best to get it done. The girl wanted to be a warrior after all and warriors weren't afraid of anything! She really hoped that her not showing up for the meeting wouldn't be detrimental to her future career. Of gosh, she really hoped not. Resnera died a little bit on the inside just thinking of it.

Up ahead she sees Chrysanthe and her feet stumble in nervousness. Here goes nothing! Slowing to a walk, Resnera tries to look as dignified as possible, but it was a failed attempt with her eyes wide and her fur all wind blown. "Alpha Chrysanthe," She gave her elder a little hurried bow before rushing into her explanation, "I'm so sorry! I heard your call, but didn't recognize it until later, and I was trying to catch a bird, they are very tricky to catch you know, and I had to climb this tree, and when I finally got up there the bird was gone, and as I was climbing down I realized that it was you that called, and that I had probably missed something important...and...and.... I'm sorry." Big blue eyes looked up at her alpha and pleaded for forgiveness.

She would pause, looking down at the girl that had run so quickly to her. The meeting had ended, and there was a moment's pause between it and her meeting with Azalea. This girl was one of Thane's children, Resnera, and she had not been at the meeting. Looking her over, she took in her wind swept fur and wide eyes, struggling not to smile at the young lupine's rushed apology and explaination. In all honesty, she was too young to participate in war, and had only missed her chance to be ranked with the other yearlings. Apparently she had missed the meeting because she had been hunting - and climbing trees to do so! "Little miss, I believe climbing trees and catching birds, are more matters for felines." She would shake her head, holding back a small chuckle. Despite the upcoming war and the pressures that came with it, despite the loss and the injuries, Valhalla remained the same. This girl was just as young and went about things as such - the alpha enjoyed that she lacked the weight of the world on her shoulders. "Don't worry about the meeting any longer." She would explain to her what she missed, "If you had been there, you would have been ranked - but I see now that you show interest in hunting?" If she didn't, the alpha would pause, and allow her to interject. Yet if she didn't, she would watch her expression and act upon that. For now she would wait for the girl's response with a curious glance.

"Little miss, I believe climbing trees and catching birds, are more matter for felines." Resnera let out a breathe she had not known she had been holding. Thank goodness the Alpha was not too mad at her! A small smile leapt to her face. It never parted from her features for two long. The girl was always smiling. "Don't worry about the meeting any longer. If you had been there, you would have been ranked - but I see now that you show interest in hunting?"

Her shoulders slumped. She had missed the ranking. Well there was always next time she supposed. At the mention of being a hunter though the young girl would shake her head no fervently."Actually ma'am, I really really want to be a warrior. Often when I hunt it is for my father, see he had a poor leg and I like to bring him gifts." A smile brightened her face, "I just happened to want to see if I was quick enough to catch the birds as they flitted about! Have you ever tried that ma'am? It's quite tough." Resnera had never been one to hide her true feelings, especially if her opinions were asked for, as the pause in Alpha Chrysanthe's speech had suggested.

It was plain in her speech that the girl's curiosity often got the better of her and that she loved to try new and exciting things. Over all this would surely make Resnera a more skilled wolf than one who lazed about all day, but she did not know that at the time. She liked to travel, but she wasn't going to tell Chrysanthe about her little expeditions too soon. She would always be loyal to Valhalla and her Alpha, but she would surely be the most informed wolf. Being a warrior would be a great and exciting experience for the young lady and she really hoped that the queen would grant her permission to train as one. With her athletic ability and quick wit, she would be an excellent warrior she was sure.
