She had truly outdone herself this time. Once again, the pale she-wolf was lost, and in a forest no less. And not just any forest, no, that would be too easy. She'd gotten turned around one too many times in none other than the Soulless Forest, home to dense fog and tangled roots just waiting to trip her up. Her light blue eyes had never served her at full capacity, and at present she felt as if she were looking through a layer of murky water what with how distorted her surroundings seemed. Add on top of this her complete lack of direction, and the female was nothing short of forsaken.

"Trees, trees everywhere. And they all look the same..." came her worried muttering, followed by a defeated sigh. She'd been trapped in the endless maze of twisted branches and constant silence for a good majority of the day after having thought cutting through it would be a good shortcut to the Rio Grande. Nevermind that the Rio was nowhere near the Soulless Forest-- no sense of direction, remember? One turn led to another and before she knew it she didn't know which way was north or south, let alone forward or back. Maybe if she asked someone for directions... Oh wait, she was alone. Of course. Well, Plan B it was, then.

With the grace only a practiced lady could possess, Felicitas padded up to the nearest tree and sank down onto her haunches, plush tail placed neatly beside dainty forepaws. Blue eyes surveyed her surroundings with their usual steady calm, with just a spark of hope that someone would happen by and tell her how to get somewhere, anywhere, so long as it was outside of the confusing labrynth. She would wait the remainder of the day, and even into the night if she must. She was a seasoned player of the waiting game, after all.

Frustration drove him onward, not really sure where he was going to end up but knowing where he was going. Why did someone have to find him when he finally found solace? His chance meeting with a mysterious slayer had driven him off of his comfortable island in the north and he had been headed south ever since. Killian could only hope that a similarly secluded place existed in the opposite direction of where he had come from.

The pace the brute kept up was ruthless, causing his companion to have to run to keep up with him. Still, the marten didn't complain, content just to be at his master's side. Why couldn't Killian share some of the calmness that ruled his friend? If only, then he wouldn't be in such a hurry to simply end up somewhere new. He wouldn't be so motivated to run through the dark forest without a plan. He might actually stop and take a break.

A vaguely familiar scent suddenly caught in his nostrils and he paused, much to Smee's silent relief. His ears flickered as he heard the whispers of a voice not too far off. He turned toward the source of the sound and began a less grueling trot in that direction, only to happen upon a female whom he recognized as a very old acquaintance. A smirk crossed his features as he approached, noting that she looked awfully content to be alone in the woods.

Hello, Felicitas.

As a wise being had once said; patience pays off. This was undoubtedly true in Felicitas' case. She hadn't been sitting there for nearly as long as she'd expected to before company arrived. The figure was too far off for a time for her to pinpoint any specifics, but that was most diffidently a wolf's silhouette she saw moving through the dense fog.

"Hello, Felicitas."

That voice. It was familiar; masculine and deep, with a just a hint of mirth. Killian? Icy blue eyes met with vibrant scarlet, recognition mirrored in both sets. How long had it been since she'd last seen the brute? Too long for counting, in her opinion. Though, truth be told, any time spent apart from her friends was too long in her opinion. Nonetheless, her trademark smile soon graced her angular face, the welcome in her eyes speaking volumes towards her happiness at his arrival. Not only would she have someone to help her out of this dismal place, but she could be able to enjoy the company of a friend as well. The term two birds with one stone suddenly came to mind.

"Killian," she beamed, rising from her seated position to greet him. "It's good to see you." To those who didn't know her, Felicitas would appear to be acting akin to one reuniting with a long lost family member, mayhaps a former lover. But in actuality, this was simply the open hearted, adoring manner she always portrayed when seeing someone after any form of absence. People didn't call her benevolent without good reason.

ooc;; THAT TABLE IS BEAUTIFUL

The alabaster fae seemed nothing but pleased to see him. He was mildly surprised that she recognized him - it had been quite some time since their first and last encounter. While his face had remained the same, he had filled out just a bit more to his full size in the past few seasons. He was a true adult now, but the change had not changed him so much to be different. Granted, he was too unique in appearance to mistake for anyone else.

Killian approached her slowly as she rose to greet him, his companion trailing a few short feet behind him. His ruby eyes met her sapphire and he noted how opposite they were - she was a light colored wolf with a kind soul, while he was dark through and through. During this comparison he continued to ignore the tiny voice in his head that urged him to be kind again. It simply wasn't worth acknowledging, because he would never give in again.

The smirk on his face conformed with his tone as he spoke. It is good to see you as well, I suppose. But pray tell, what are you doing in the middle of the forest alone?
