Fate Brought Us Together, Love Will Bind Us

The sun sunk below the horizon of the waters, turning the world around him a surreal glow of fiery oranges and reds. Shadows looming all around him from the trees that lined the shore, the waters rising tide steadily climbing with time. He was feeling quite hungry, but it was something he could put off till later. First, he wanted to see Ashtoreth. He hoped she would be up to spending some time together, after all, from the chaos of the war, moving territories, and getting used to their new home they had not been able spend much time together. He felt bad of course, having returned to her from the war, confessing he loved her, and then suddenly not being able to spend time with her. Frankly, it left him with an empty feeling. And he wanted to right that wrong. He wanted her to know that he would be there for her always, and he would stick to it no matter what.
Standing near a small slump of sea weed, he sniffed at it. A wrinkle of his nose at the bland and unappealing scent of the dead sea weed. A stench that would remain in his nostrils for some time. Sneezing, he moved a little further away from the water, wondering if he would find Ashtoreth nearby. He hoped so...he missed her dearly.
