Magnus stood in a clear-ish area in the mangrove, cursing his luck under his breath. His leg had healed over now, the wound closed over. But he was left with a god damned stump, up to his pastern had been amputated. God it was so fucking annoying. What the hell had he done to deserve this?! The gods were punishing him, but for what? He had been a fucking good person all his life! He growled and stared at the stump. He had to get the rhythm. He kept tripping, them he faced the struggle of getting up again. He had the basic sort of movement, but when he tried to move at any speed he ended up stumbling. It was just so... Argh! He grunted and began again. Edging forwards slowly, after about ten metres at a snail's pace he sped up a little, almost at a very slow walking pace, another ten metres, a little faster, another ten metres, he was almost trotting now. Just as a triumphant smile began to spread across his lips he lost the rhythm, and he tripped, he flew forwards. Then landed in a sprawled heap on the ground. "ARGH! FUCKING HELL!" He growled, just as he had been getting a knack for it. He hauled himself awkwardly up off the round and cursed. I swear the gods hate me he grunted and glanced around, hoping that no one had seen his fall.

Novella couldn't say she knew a lot of the pack members in Ludicael all that well, it was something she knew she probably ought to do something about, there were other wolves living in these lands beyond her fellow Destruction family members after all. She was typically quite a confident young girl, though truth be told she wasn't entirely sure how to go about approaching all of the other wolves within the pack, this however was probably not the way to go about things.

Mismatched eyes caught the glimpse of the white wolf through the mangroves and then she heard his shout and upon closer inspection realised that the man was no longer standing. Cautiously she pressed onwards and through the mangroves to the edge of the small clearing as Magnus began to lift himself off of the ground. This was not the way to properly meet the male, that much she knew a part of her almost felt like she was somehow intruding, perhaps it was simply that he didn't look like he wanted company at that moment in time.

"Are you ok?" All the same, despite her mind screaming at her to just leave him in peace, Novella found the ridiculous question leaving her lips. Of course he wasn't ok, something was bothering him and though she had heard about him losing his leg, she could see that stump clearly for the first time and could only imagine how difficult such an injury was to cope with.

When the young woman's voice reached his audits he cursed internally. So someone had witnessed his fall. He could not have been more embarrassed. Well he could be, but he chose to ignore that fact. He pulled himself fully of the ground and glanced to the woman. He knew that she was part of the pack, but he could not put a name to her face. He racked his brain for her name. Novella. That was it. Well he wasn't too certain. He was also rather embarrassed that she had heard his curses, they had not been gentlemanly. "Yes, thank you, Novella is it? I am fine, just trying to adjust." he forced a smile, trying to cover the anger and the sorrow. But he was not doing too good a job of it. He was so annoyed at himself. If he had been paying more attention or been faster, he could have dodged the tree. It was his fault, and now he had to live with that for the rest of his life.

Even as the question left her lips Novella found herself regretting it. There was a moment of silence and a part of her wished she would somehow be quick enough to get out of the clearing and away and pretend she hadn't said a thing. Of course there was no way she would be quick enough to achieve that, and though those few seconds seemed to take longer, Magnus soon cast his gaze upon her, he'd heard her and certainly knew that she was there.

"Yes, thank you, Novella is it? I am fine, just trying to adjust." She gave a small nod of her heard, confirming that Novella was indeed her name. The girl still wasn't exactly sure what to say now, the result of her question wasn't too bad of course though surely her silence now wasn't really helping. The only questions that came to mind related to the injury in some way or how he was coping with a missing limb and all seemed even more foolish questions to ask than her first.

Then out of nowhere the topic of family somehow sprung to mind, he had just become a father not too long ago, the news had spread around the pack though she of course hadn't seen the pups. Truth be told her excitement was mainly focussed upon her sisters, both of whom were currently expecting. Aurora and Magnus' pups had slipped from her mind, not that it seemed overly appropriate for her to visit when she barely knew them anyway. "How are you finding being a dad?" She questioned. Parenthood was of course far from her own mind, she was content with being an Aunt for now, though the Spring had been a rather unpleasant reminder that she could one day be a mother herself.

So it was Novella. A nice name. He had never really spoken to Novella. Well now was his chance to he supposed. She seemed to be rather awkward. She reminded him of his sister slightly. Kind, quite shy, not the best conversationalist, but still, a very nice person. She didn't really look like Clary, but she had the same sort of personality. Magnus couldn't actually say what Novella's personality was like, as this was the longest conversation he had ever had with her. From what he knew of her, they were very alike. Novella's soft voice drew him from his thoughts. Shoving him back to the real world. How are you finding being a dad? he smiled, a genuine smile this time. He loved it. It was one of the best things in the world. One year ago he had stumbled across Ludicael, now he had a wife, two kids and a great pack. Life had treated him well. Mostly. "It is truly one of the best feelings in the world. You will not understand this now, but when you have children, well if you want to, there is nothing that warms your heart more than watching them playing, happy." A warm light filled his eyes, he glanced over to Novella to see if he had come across as strange with that answer.

ooc: You were sneaky! I've only just seen this reply as I was sorting out my postlog

Shy and awkward weren't often words used to describe Novella, though this meeting wasn't exactly the more conventional really. She had interrupted a wolf she barely knew in a moment of struggle and had certainly felt a little bad about it. With time and the topic drifting away, taking with it that guilt well she'd soon come out of her shell again, the typical cheery Novella that Ludicael was far more accustomed to seeing.

"It is truly one of the best feelings in the world. You will not understand this now, but when you have children, well if you want to, there is nothing that warms your heart more than watching them playing, happy." She certainly didn't think Magnus strange for his answer it was good to see that he at least had something to brighten him now, though she certainly didn't speak those thoughts, a smile spreading across her own face. "That's good to hear." For Novella, learning she was an aunt had certainly brought her joy, though he was right, she probably would never experience the same warmth until she herself was a mother. It still was a rather odd thought to the girl though and filled her instead with a rather strange feeling that she couldn't describe. Nerves perhaps? She wasn't repulsed by the idea at least.

She shook the thought away though, instead continuing to focus upon the topic of Magnus' children. She was a little interested in learning out more about his family. She had of course taken every opportunity to spend time with Song's children, though they were her nieces and nephew, though she could hardly go and visit Magnus and Aurora's children when she barely knew the parents. "What are they like? I've not seen them yet" She didn't even know their names thinking about it, though she knew there were two pups. She hoped to see them out and about soon, and hopefully it wouldn't be too long before Song's second litter arrived and they'd have some new play mates.

He smiled at her question. Australis reminded him of his grandparents, and Zlata clearly reminded Aurora of someone. She hadn't told him who, so hw hadn't asked. Australis, our son, he is a dark brown, with a white under belly. He has bright green eyes. Well closer to aqua really. Zlata is quote similar to me, silver fur, charcoal dipped ears and feet, but you see Aurora in her eyes. They're a beautiful silvery colour. Australis is very like my grandmother, apart from the eyes, they come from my mother. You could come and see them sometime id you wanted. he thought back to Australis's behaviour towards his parents, he could be quite withdrawn sometimes, but they would deal with that in time. He would understand things more when he grew up. Aurora had been slightly depressed lately, and Aus did not understand why his mother was not spending time with himself and Zlata. But he was far too young to understand the loss that the patents had faced. It was another thing that he would have to learn to understand over time. So how's the training going? he broke the silence with a lighthearted question, hoping to restart the conversation.

With her question, Novella had meant more in their personalities, though it was rather nice to know what they looked like as well, she would be able to recognise them now if she saw them, hopefully anyway. It probably wouldn't have been hard to guess who their parents were regardless, but she had names as well now. She smiled softly to begin with though it grew into a wider one as he invited her to visit them at one point. She certainly would like that. "Yes please." She replied eagerly. She may not be ready to have pups of her own yet, though there was certainly nothing wrong with them.

His next words weren't quite as an exciting one really, bringing up the topic of training. "There is a lot to learn." She responded and not for the first time found herself wishing that her parents would have pushed their other children to learn a little more. Her litter had been put at quite the disadvantage when it came to entering the world beyond the pack, but then perhaps that had been their ambition, to keep them close. Clearly it hadn't worked quite so well. She'd had her little lessons with Song on Self Defence, and attended the group lessons for Healing and Theology. She planned on attending the group lesson for Self Defence when that happened, though she guessed it was Magnus' responsibility she wouldn't rush him. He had a fair amount on his plate right now.
