Silent Air

The summer heat shone brightly outside. And he? Lying on the cold ground of the cove he had called home since coming to these lands. It had been almost a year now, and a season or so since he had last seen Liberty. She had told him she loved him, and yet she had remained in Glaciem with the albino that had stolen her from her home. He didn't understand her, why did she not understand that he had truly loved her? Even during their first meeting, he had fallen for her because he understood. They were alike in so many ways, and yet she had turned away from the promises made so long ago. Alas, he could do nothing. The poor bloke sighed, his heart broken not once, but twice.
It had been such a long time since he felt happiness, would it be his destiny forever to feel this way? He supposed he wasn't meant to be happy anymore. He had placed himself into the path of hurt, the male too easily loving, he was open and vulnerable. He didn't want to become cold, didn't want to end up like his brother Jet who had a heart of cold stone. Ears flicked away the small flies that lingered about the sands outside, and slowly he'd pull himself up. He wasn't the best looking wolf, not as of late. He had dwindled away the last few seasons, remaining isolated within his cave. The last time he had socialized was with two strangers he met along the beach, but he had not seen them in some time.
He walked out into the sunlight, the gulls overhead called out as they flew along the cliffs. He followed the familiar path he had created for when the water was low enough to walk, although it was possible for him to swim, he preferred to walk during low tide. Stockinged feet touched the dark sands, and he would begin his aimless trek to nowhere.

Against the sands the pale apparition of a lone wolf seemed to be busying herself in a little myriad game of chasing the tides. Of course not to say she won each round, still the idea of chasing and being chased by the waves saltine foam allowed her to keep her mind off of doubt and uncertainty. Neika seemed to have traveled a lot as of recently, going from one place to the next that it never occurred to her that she could be treading once more in someone's territory. That shit happened a lot to her.
Standing there in exhaustion , she watched the drawn calligraphy of paws being lapped away by a slow wave, realizing something lik this can only hold enticement's charm for so long before it to grows tedious.Shaking her pelt free from any salty residue in some desperate attempt to dry herself, it was then she decided that it was time to keep moving along until something else caught her curiosity.
It was then she spotted another hazy silhouette solemnly making his way down the shore heading in her direction. Making introductions was such a gamble she thought, since one as inexperienced such as herself couldn't ever be exactly sure if the other wolf they happened upon, may or may not be a foe. What if this was some sort of elaborated trap? Was it a possibility that this other wolf might think the same of her? It was such a complex way of living, always trying to efficiently be ahead of everyone's intentions even if they hadn't any.
