How the hell did he end up this far north? Sal couldn't believe it, not just that he had survived the journey here but this place, he could remember it from his childhood. The boy hopped from tree to tree, purple orbs wide with joy, bright, happy. This was where he was born, where his family had been so long ago before everything had fallen apart! No more packs held the place in their grasp, it was open, he could do anything here! Salamander would toss his skull upwards, jaws parting to let lose a long and powerful howl, not caring who could hear him. He wanted to show how happy he was, wanting to forest to know he was back, even if his family couldn't join him. "Sal is back! Did you miss me?!" He barked happily to the trees, rubbing his body along each one he passed by.

As a loud bark was heard, the black bird startled, looking down to see a wolf rubbing his body against trees. Narrowing his yellow eyes, B watched the strange wolf curiously. He said his name was Sal, and asked if he had been missed. The crow racked his brain to think of this dark wolf, but he could not remember him. Hopping a few branches lower until he was just about above his head level. "Oi, B did not miss you because B does not know who Sal is! B has never seen Sal before, silly woof, caw!" B was quite good at remembering faces of all these wolves who ruled these lands, and his he did not. Shuffling along his branch, he lowered his head to look at the wolf closer. "Nope! B does not recognize Sal, nope nope! Silly silly woof, thinking B knows you! How can B miss what B doesn't know? Silly!" He called, his tail feathers wiggling around happily at his own joke. Yes, the ebony bird was having a blast with all of these wolves. He had no friends or family to hang around and talk to, so all these wolves would just have to do.

Too busy rubbing himself all along the trees form his childhood, Salamander would not notice the crow hopping from branch to branch to his level till the thing had spoken. Not really expecting somebody to answer the boys calls, Salamander jumped at the new voice near him. Body whipped around to face the thing, ears swiveling forward and purple gaze falling upon... a bird? The boy's head briefly tilted to the side in curiosity and confusion, wondering if the creature really did just speak to him or if Sal was just imagining things because he wanted to hear somebody answer his calls.

The bird said B didn't miss Sal because B didn't know Sal, and has never seen him before, calling the wolf silly and cawing. The boy looked to the bird with a new found interest, tail picking up and beginning to wag in a steady swing. Purple gaze remained focused on the bird rather intently, watching it hop along the branch before it spoke once more. It didn't recognize the wolf, calling him silly for thinking the bird knew him, and asking how it could miss someone it didn't know.

Salamander barked at the creature, doing a little hop before walking up to the tree and standing up on his hing legs, paws pressed against the tree. "B? Bird is called B?" He questioned, wondering if the way the bird spoke like him meant that it was calling itself B or if it meant a different bird. "B can learn who Sal is, can be Sal's friend, yes?!" He barked up with a grin.
