Castiel

He had been little more than a ghost this past season, floating from place to place with little interaction with others and even less peace. He was unsure what to do with his family gone - Castiel had always lived for his family. They had been all that mattered and now he was three summers old and entirely alone. It wasn't like he couldn't take care of himself. He was an adult, of course, but it was just wrong. They could be suffering somewhere; they could be injured. And he wouldn't know. That was what really haunted him.

But Castiel was old enough now that he could not be chasing ghosts. They were gone and maybe they were never coming back. The thought killed him, but once it had appeared in his mind, it was never going to leave. Over and over, Castiel found himself circling back to this, and now in a desperate attempt to evade it, Castiel had begun to walk.

Now the white male found himself on the edge of pack territory, standing quietly a few feet from the border. There was no reason for him to stick around - and yet, he found himself settling back onto his haunches, golden gaze sweeping the area. What was it like to be in a pack? He had been alone for so long now that he could not remember what it was like to always have more than one wolf to turn to. What was it like to have a family? Luna knew he wanted to be reunited with his once more.

ooc: cas is actually just outside the borders, not within pack territory if that wasn't clear ~

Ekko was walking along the borders, doing all she could to avoid those love-sick fools. She couldn't stand watching it, knowing that it was a poison that was slowly destroying them. She needed to get away, to be away from that toxic emotion. She contemplated running away, but she could not leave Sibelle. Not only was she her master, she was also her friend. Sighing heavily the girl went on, until a pale beast came into view. Pale blue eyes flew wide open as she tucked her small body close to the earth, praying that he hadn't seen her. She wasn't one for idle conversation, she really wasn't one for conversation at all. Quickly poking her head up, she wondered if he was here to join. Not that she had any say in the matter, but she couldn't help but be curious. Didn't mean that she was about to waltz over and say 'Hi, I'm Ekko! Let's be BBFs!' Not a chance.

Growling softly to herself, Ekko crawled a few steps closer to him, her black nose quivering at his scent. He wasn't a member of another pack, so at least he didn't come with any plots to hurt them or something. Although that made her all the more curious as to why he was sitting along their border, just looking in. Rolling her eyes, she stayed where she was, although she looked pretty silly. There was no brush to cover her, so she was literally crouched in the grass. Ekko was totally an expert stealth wolf... yeah that was totally it. Cause who else would attempt to hide their bodies in plain sight? Genius, she was one.

Castiel

It took Castiel time to notice that he had company - and when he did, he stirred guiltily, golden gaze taking in the small form of the other wolf. This was presumably a pack wolf, and one who was surely curious about the stranger hovering outside their borders. Perhaps he should go - but would it be strange if he simply left without saying a word? And Castiel had to admit that he desired the company of someone else in that moment. His family was gone; he had nothing. He needed something to distract himself from that knowledge. The ghosts that had haunted his past needed to be forgotten.

And so Castiel offered the other a small smile, the barest twitch of his lips. "Hello there." He spoke simply, but his voice was friendly. He did his best to look non-intimidating, wagging his tail against the earth and pricking his ears attentively towards the stranger. "Am I being a bother?" He could leave, of course, but Castiel wasn't sure that he wanted to. Still, guilt flickered in his thoughts - surely no pack wanted a stranger just standing at their borders. "Would you like me to leave?" He didn't want to. But he could.
