Akemi was afraid.
The small femme curled up in a ball, hidden underneath a bush on the island. She shuddered, feeling safe only in areas she felt too small for that massive wolf to get to her. He haunted her dreams, turning them into nightmares. Gods what was happening to her? Where was that fire? That spark? Single eye would squeeze tightly closed. She hated this feeling. She had to think of some way... some way to get back at him. To win... to take back her life.

In the night sky are like shooting stars? The male had not seen his sister in forever. He had given up eating due to worry, his ribs showing through his gold and black fur. His blue eyes were dull, until he smelt her scent, and began to lighten up, his tail wagging as he plunged into the now slightly warmer waters. He crawled up on the island, his heart racing as he glanced around, looking for the small female. Without even realizing it, tears had began to flow down his face as he smiled, only a few, the happiness over ruling the hunger that raged in his stomach, the dull pain in his paws. Freyr was happy again, and he raced around the island with the energy of a pup, until he smelt her scent near a bush. He knew that she wasn't usually hiding in bushes or anything like that, and wondered if something hap happened. He crouched down, nudging his snout under the bush, catching sight of her scars, lack of a tail, and only one eye. Rage hit him suddenly, and he pulled away from her, jolting to his paws. He would find the one who had done that to the one he loved so much, and he would maul him until he was half dead. Then, after he had done that, he would sink his fangs into that animal's throat and not let go unless someone moved him away. And even then, they would have to fight him to make him let go. But now was not the time for thoughts like that. Now was not the time to hunt down the wolf and slaughter them, rip them to shreds. No, the time in the island was for Akemi, and for Akemi only. The gold and black male stuck his snout under the bush again, attempting to nudge Akemi gently, his voice soft as he spoke to her. "Akemi...." He would not be like the others, he would not look at her with disgust or pity, he would never look at her different. She was still his Akemi, no matter what happened to her. |

But then it came to her when he stuck his head back down. Freyr. The small femme felt her tears shining in her eyes. "Freyr..." She would whine. She crawled out, pressing her nose gently against his own. "I..." She was glad to see him... she needed to be with him.

Freyr waited for a few moments, his blue gaze full of worry. What if his sister was not well enough to get up? Well, if that's the case, then I'll carry to a healer myself, and never leave her side. With a shake of his head, the gold and black male relaxed as Akemi pulled herself out of the bush. She touched her nose to his, and the male looked at her for a moment. He almost pulled away so that his sister couldn't see the mix of anger and worry in his eyes. His thin frame shook a little, and he closed his light blue eyes. He wanted to part his jaws and speak, but he couldn't swallow or speak. It was as if he was frozen until he opened his eyes. He looked into Akemi's eyes, and finally managed to speak, his voice hesitant. It rasped in his throat, and as he said it, his eyes watered with tears for a moment. But it wasn't because of the wounds his sister now had.
"Akemi.....Do you hate me for leaving so soon after we met?" He stared down at her, not caring what she said. He shouldn't have left her side. If he hadn't, maybe the wolf who had attacked her wouldn't have been so brave. Or maybe.....It would have been him instead of her.

?Of course I don?t. I?m the one to blame for the wounds I received. I challenged an opponent so far out of my league... And I left everyone else behind too. Even if you had stayed... This would have happened. I?ve been a damn fool, Freyr.? Tears would form in that red orb now, but she would not press into him, the red hued orb closing as she let out a whine. ?It was insane... All of it... He was so big Freyr... So much bigger than anyone I?ve ever seen... It was like facing a monster in a nightmare... Right after provoking it!? Her voice cracked with emotion, remembering the massive man and his threat. No... His promise.

Freyr opened his eyes and stared at his sister, hesitating for a quick moment before licking the top of her head. Whoever had done this to her......He would kill them. He would kill the wolf, or he would die trying, maybe both. He would never love her less, and he never wanted to leave her side again, hide her from the looks she would be given. His blue eyes glimmered with tears, and he listened to her words, his gold and black fur bristling a little at the thought of the male. He could imagine himself now, sinking his fangs into the wolf's throat and loving every minute of it....Then he shook his head, staring at his little sister again. Hurt at seeing her hurt. When she finished, Freyr spoke, his voice soft as he said what was on his mind, sitting down and attempting to stare into her eyes.
"Akemi, I know you think that this still might have happened. But if I could have helped it, it would have not been you. It would have been me. I know you wouldn't want that to happen. But if I could go back in time, I would take those wounds for you." The gold and black male's voice broke, just for a minute, until he spoke again, his voice stronger. "If it meant protecting you, Akemi, I would kill another. I would die to protect you." Freyr glanced away, just for a moment, speaking in a soft voice. "Akemi, I just want to ask one thing. What did this man look like? I promise that I'll make sure he never comes around you again. He'll have to get through me first. With that, he stared into his sister's eyes, waiting for her response. He knew that it was hard on her, but he would kill that man if it meant keeping him away from Akemi.
