To think that she might need help was a foul thought to the noble girl. As rough as the elements got, she was Irina fucking Avilov and she could and would take care of herself. The winds could whip and howl and tear at her fur and Irina would be just fine. Bronze gaze narrowed fiercely as she plodded against the wind, head bowed. Every time she lifted her paws, the wind tore at them, trying to push her back the way that she had come and every time she lifted her paws, Irina fought onwards, pressing her paws against the solid earth. At least the earth wasn't trying to fling her right back the way that she had come.

This probably hadn't been the best time for Irina to show up on these lands. But now that there was a challenge facing her, she'd be damned if she retreated. By kicking up a storm as soon as she arrived, Alacritia had ensured that Irina was going to be here for a while. She wasn't going to let some storm beat her down. Which was exactly why she was trudging against the wind, even though she had nowhere to go. Most other wolves were probably cowering somewhere, waiting out the wind, but Irina Avilov was not most other wolves. She was not going to let some wind and rain keep her from going somewhere - even if this was more than 'some wind and rain.'

Grumbling irritably to herself, the girl plodded onwards. The rain had soaked her pelt entirely through, and she was wet and thoroughly miserable but still she was going to keep walking. The wind tugged at her limbs and fur like angry hands, wanting to drag her down to the earth but Irina was stronger than the elements and she kept on walking. At least it wasn't cold - if it had been winter, the storm probably would have been enough for Irina to hole up somewhere and wait for it to pass. As it was, the wind gusted around her, and up ahead, a few branches crashed towards the earth, landing right in front of her. The wolf yelped in surprise, leaping back a few feet as she glared at the offending object. Maybe it was time to hunker down somewhere... But even as she thought that, Irina leaped over the fallen branches and kept on walking - nothing was going to stop here today.

Albion had never felt storms of this caliber. They ripped at him, screamed at him, seemed eager for nothing but his blood. He dug his claws into the sodden earth with each step he took and even then he felt those invisible hands seeking to suck him upwards and into the clouds. He snarled against the fury of the world. What on earth had he gotten himself into? Just a week past he'd been snug in a den in that boulder field and now... This devil's wrath had come out of nowhere! Just that morning he'd seen the sky darken and in his folly had thought it no more than a summer storm. This was no such calamity and he'd wished desperately to be back in his den. It's probably flooded, he thought miserably. That soil is so porous and it's a fucking monsoon. Oh, I'm so screwed. Albion lifted his lip to show his fangs to the storm clouds and was struck in the eye by a piece of hail for his trouble. He growled out a curse which turned into a yelp as a tree branch crashed down a few paces to his right. To his surprise, another creature echoed his surprised sentiment. Brows lifted in surprise as he saw another wolf, dark of pelt and most likely a fae, through the brush on his flank. He'd had no idea she was there, what with the barrage that had fallen upon him. "Beautiful day, huh?" he screamed over the wind, allowing his twisted sense of humor to take the reins. "You wouldn't by any chance know of somewhere we can get out of the rain?" Even if it meant holing up with a stranger for gods knew how long, it was better than being crushed by falling flora. It was something like a desperate situation, as far as he was concerned.

Another wolf seemed to have the misfortune of getting stuck out here. It was hard to pick up the scent through the rain that fell in sheets, and the howling wind whipped it past Irina almost before she'd had a chance to pick up on it, but there was definitely another wolf out here. The yelp that had escaped her maw in a moment of weakness had been echoed by a distinctly masculine voice - and last time Irina checked, she was definitely a woman. Coming to a stop, Irina lifted her head, squinting against the driving rain and winds as her bronze gaze scanned the area, seeking out the offending wolf. In the current circumstances, it was hard to pick out many defining features, but Irina was pretty sure that those markings looked familiar.

When he addressed her, Irina huffed a little, snorting irritably to herself. "Yes, it's absolutely lovely." Sarcasm practically dripped from her words as she eyed the other balefully. What was his problem? Did he really think this was a nice day? Or was he, too, being sarcastic? Irina was inclined to believe the latter.

His next words threw her for a bit of a loop, not that she'd admit it. Her immediate reaction was to say that there was nothing that she was willing to share with him, but the truth was, Irina didn't really have anywhere to go, and this storm was bad. She had to admit that since she'd been almost crushed by a falling tree that two might be better than one - at least that way, if one of them got injured another might be able to help. "Not really," Irina admitted at last, lifting her voice to be heard over the wind and rain, "I'm open for suggestions." It was like pulling nails. She hated admitting that she might need help; it went against her very core to say this. But if the male was up for looking for shelter with her, then at least as soon as they made it out of the storm, Irina would never have to see him again. He'd never tell anyone about the day that Irina Avilov admitted that she needed help.
