Fickle love (surreal)
Sureals jaws snapped shut with a crunch, the hare she’d caught uttering a shriek before it was cut off with a snow painting splatter of blood. She rose from her crouched position and padded toward the den, the limp but still twitching hare dangling from her jaws. This would be a good meal for the pups. However, her path was changed for a moment as Sibelles voice called to her from beyond the willows. Surreal paused, then uttered a reply, voice slightly muffled by the dead hare. Turning, she finished her trek to the den and dropped the hare, watching for a moment as Regulus started to pounce it before jerking back and letting his sisters get a share first. Once all three were eating, Surreal turned and padded back out to find her sister in law waiting.
As she reached Sibelle, she offered a warm smile to the russet female. “Sister, how are you?” But the question died in her throat as she got a good look at the woman. Something felt… off. Mismatched blue and gold eyes met the single verdant green eye as she stared at the female. “What’s happened?” That single green eye was hard, a wall blocking the deeper emotions; but Surreal could practically taste the underlying anger in the female.

Surreal’s concern for Sibelle rose as the breath hissed from her sister in-laws clenched teeth. And when Sibelle spoke, Surreals eyes widened slightly, then narrowed, a growl rumbling in her own throat to mingle with the russet females. “May his balls wither in their sack, and may he die a cripple. And he will if he dares to come near you or any of the rest of us.” Her words came out as an icy purr. The ice broke as Sibelle tremble, and she stepped forward to offer her shoulder should her sister in-law need it. Sibelle went on to talk of Solstice being gone. And none other than her own niece Odette; unless there was some other female with the name… “If this is the same Odette I’m thinking of, then my niece will be a good leader for the pack. My mother said to me that Odettes father was named Gargoyle, who was a good leader. I wouldn’t be surprised in the least if Odette revives what Glaciem once used to be before it was taken from her family.” She was proud of her adoptive niece. And she knew her mother would be proud too.
She looked at Sibelle. “You and your kids are more than welcome to stay with us if you decide not to join Odette. And… once I rebuild our pack… I would be honored if you would join us. You’re a fine fighter, and you’re family. You will always be welcomed.” It was no pity position, but merely an offer of a place to stay where family would be present, and their children could play. Despite Sibelles involvement with Viridiana, Surreal trusted the female.

Immediately she could see the anger come over her sister in laws face, their growls mingling together. A half head smirk would tug at her frayed lips when she spoke. It was reassuring to know that her ex husband was welcomed nowhere in regards to her family. The grey woman would step forward, offering her shoulder in support and the russet queen would take it, leaning lightly against her brothers mate as a sigh rolled off her tongue. It was tiresome being so angry and full of hate, but she couldn't find herself capable of any other emotion at the moment. When she mentioned Odette, it seemed that Surreal already knew the woman, considering her to be family. But it seemed that Surreal had her own plans for a pack, wanting to rebuild the one that Vi had ripped from her mother. It was in that moment that she realized that no hard feeling hung between them over her support of Vi. Surreal opened the door of her pack to her, welcoming her and her children with open arms. A smile would lift her lips as she nodded. "Thank you Surreal. That means so much to me. " Her thoughts flickered to Falk, her poor brother, still trapped within Arcanum. She wondered how the woman was fairing on her own. "How have you been managing?" Concern would fill her gaze and her words. There was no doubt in her mind that Surreal would know what she was talking about. "Burn Baby Burn" |
