Walk | Talk | Think

The mostly white boy could hardly believe that he was here again. It had not crossed his mind that when the Solstice pack - now called Glaciem - picked up and moved north under the new reign of the lady named Odette that he would end up drawn back to the place where everything began for his family. Sure, he knew his old home resided in the north, could recall the exact location almost perfectly despite the time spent away, but even wandering the woods that surrounded the place had not caused anything to click. His memories were warped by those of a child, his recollection focused upon the den proper and the space just outside of it. Did his mother know? Had she possibly already scouted out the location already? Maybe asking her would have been the brightest option.

As it was, Miksa searched alone. His lengthening, gangly legs carried his white, lanky frame along at an awkward sort of plod, making quick work of the snow but still bringing him nowhere nearer to his desired location. Eyes of bright and sunny yellow stared curiously around as his dark marked brows pinched together with his concentration. Could he have been wrong about the suspected location here beside the Waterfall? Maybe his memory was not as good as he thought it was. Maybe he should have thought twice before setting off on this search alone. Both his mother and Shtiya had been more adventurous with their ventures beyond the den compared to him; it made sense they would know.

With doubts setting in, the tan-eared boy stopped himself within the wood that surrounded the Waterfall Peak, trying one last time to get his bearings again. Maybe, if he could just think back to the day they left and the path that they had traveled on their way south, the location would come back to him more clearly than before. He was just too curious to see what it looked like now to think of abandoning the idea altogether.

Glaciem had been quiet for a few days, making Odette feel slightly at ease. Solstice drama had made her want to run away from the warmer climates, giving her the chance for the slight solitude of the North. As she walked around her borders, she took in the scenery of the endless amounts of snow. Her home was definitely breathtaking, regardless of how cold it was...She belonged here.

After taking a moment to admire her home, she began to walk around the Peak's forests when she caught an unfamiliar scent. Ears perked and bi-colored gaze moved to the source of the smell. Without hesitating, she trudged through the thickening snow, hoping that whatever it was didn't try to cross her pack's borders. Only an idiot of a low IQ would do something that stupid.

It didn't take long to finally see the visitor. Her red and blue eyes twinkled with soft surprise as she made her way to where he sat. She walked in a straight line to properly greet him, paws picking the right places in order to avoid any sudden drops. She left a line in the snow as she walked through the forest, finally reaching the last line of the tall pines that separated her pack lands from the outside world. Slowing her pace, she stopped in front of him, massive frame with thick winter fur silently shaking once before her voice touched the air. "Hello," she greeted, tones warm and welcoming. "Welcome to Glaciem. What brings you to my borders today?"

Walk | Talk | Think

Try as he might, nothing seemed to be jarring his memory. He had been too young when they had left, his excursions beyond the den too few for him to use any of his memories to try and figure out the right location just by sight alone. For all he knew, it had been claimed by another animal, another wolf even, and he would not be able to have his moment of nostalgia anyway. Disheartened by his own thoughts, he was ready to give up his idea.

The soft crunch of snow only gave him a moment's notice to realize someone was approaching, and slowly he turned his head to stare at the wolf with quiet puzzlement. He recognized the woman immediately - Odette had a bearing and appearance that were unique and identifying at the same time - and wondered why it was she was choosing to approach him. Was she possibly looking for his mother and thought he might have an idea of where to find her? He hoped not; he had no clue.

The polite greeting he had expected was offered in tones inviting and friendly, though her welcome and question caused his brows to knit once more, caused his head to tilt slightly to one side. What brought him here? "I thought I lived here..?" he asked in quiet speculation, suddenly questioning everything he had thought. Had he lost his status as a member of the pack? Was he not welcomed here? Feeling entirely uncertain, the boy began to shift nervously in place, his tan ears folding back.

ooc: crappy phone post!

She looked at him with a warm gaze, hoping that her massive size and colored eyes wouldn't scare him away. When he gave her the bewildered look, however, she automatically assumed that he didn't realize who she was. Only when he spoke in a questioning manner about his residence within Glaciem did she really think about who he was. She tried to place him within her ranks and then, it hit her. She remembered him standing beside Qanik, his white pelt blending in with his mother's. The dawn of realization showed on her face and she quickly recovered before saying, "I'm sorry, Miksa. Please forgive me for not realizing that this growing boy in front of me is you. I remember when you were still a young pup...Time has run right past me, I'm afraid." She gave him an apologetic smile, hoping he would overlook her blond moment. "You do live here, Miksa. I hope I didn't make your heart race too much in a panic."

Miksa was indeed panicked, afraid that somewhere during the move everything had gotten turned around without him knowing and he had lost his spot within the pack. Not entirely familiar with pack things, he assumed without questioning it that it was entirely possible, and feared his lack of knowledge and understanding about packs was going to be his undoing. But no sooner had he replied with a timid question of his own he watched the small hint of puzzlement creep onto Odette's face, saw the light of realization, and at last felt a tiny spark of hope.

To his surprise, not only did she recall him as being part of the pack, but she even managed to call him by his name, a fact that caused a nervous youth to utter a quiet sigh beneath his breath, his folded ears relaxing somewhat to angle toward his Alphess more easily, though they nearly went right back again at her remarks about him. He was not accustomed to attention of any kind, and particularly was not used to others noting things about him, like the fact he was growing considerably by the day, and the attention came with a sort of shy embarrassment, his lips shifting about as if fighting a smile. How weird that someone would notice him.

Odette apologized for her forgetfulness, though Miksa had all but forgotten it as she spoke of him, and when he responded he did so quietly with his bright yellow gaze averted downward. "Not too much," he repeated in agreement, though immediately fell silent again. He hardly knew what to say to his Alphess, and in no way considered himself adept at conversation. Instead he waited on her to make any further comment, even awaiting some kind of direction if she had one to give as a leader to her subordinate.

His awkward shyness made her realize that he was indeed one of the shyer personalities of her pack. Odette couldn't help but smile at him. She figured that with time, he would be able to figure out what he wanted to do with his life and what he wanted to do within their pack. His silence prompted her to speak again, something she was sure he felt relieved to have happen. "I'm glad," she began, soft laugh rising from her lips. "I am more than happy to officially welcome you to Glaciem."

She let her tail curl over her haunches, snow rising and falling from the layers of her thick fur. Slowly, she turned to her left, standing sideways to let Miksa pass her through the first line of tall pines. Once he started to walk into the woods, she began to slowly walk beside him on his right, keeping on eye on his actions when she did. She didn't want to spook him because of her size; her past experiences had taught her to be a little wary. "I know this change of scenery may be startling at first," she gently began, "but I hope that after awhile, everyone will grow accustomed to it." Her red and blue eyes rose to look at the skies above them. "This place holds so much wonder and beauty...I don't see how anyone couldn't enjoy it."
