Splash!

Water sprayed up from the lake, dousing the auburn face that laid a little to close to the surface. Grumbling, the man sat back up as he watched the flash of silver vanish deeper into the lake. Dammit, he couldn't catch anything! He had make the trek from Ebony lands to Wolfpaw lake, intending to see if Pandora was still here. He couldn't show up without a gift though, it had been almost a whole season since he saw her last. He thought that fishing would have been a lot easier than chasing down land locked prey, but oh no. He had been very, very wrong. But Fendar was a very stubborn man, so he wasn't going to give up that easy. He was standing in the shallows of the lake, tail held up to avoid getting his whole body wet. The damn fish were so fast though, and being half blind in one eye really wasn't helping. He really should just get someone to blind the rest of the eye, it would make his life a lot easier.

Letting out a soft sigh, he saw another fish foolishly swim a little to close to him. Hovering over it, he positioned his muzzle over the fish, glad that his shadow was behind him instead on in front. Jaws opened wide as he snapped his head forward, eyes closing as he blindly dove for the fish. Teeth closed around the slippery creature, fangs sinking into the cold flesh. Quickly he yanked his head up, tossing the fish over his shoulder and onto land. It flopped around, and Fendar spun to whack it over the head and end its life. But his paws lost control on the slippery rocks, and before he knew it, he was underwater. Legs flailed about as he kicked to the surface, eyes narrowing as he pulled himself back up to a standing position. Great... now he was soaking wet. Huffing he marched to the shore, looking down at the stupid fish that gasped at his paws. Damn thing, it made him fall! Growling he raised his left paw and slammed it down on its skull, which only managed to send the fish flying off ahead of him. No! His paws were still slick, so all he had done was kick the stupid thing away. Still dripping wet he chased after the fish, who was now flopping around and away from him. "Get over here you stupid fish!" he called, catching up to the damned fish. He scooped his head down to bite it again, but at the same moment the fish flapped his tail upwards, colliding with Fendar's nose. Cursing some more, he snapped his jaws around as his raised paw bashed the fish. "I hate fish," he grumbled, and it was now his turn to flop to the earth. The dead fish lay beside him, and he just laid there. Stupid, stupid thing. Fuck fish...

Her life had been pretty boring as of late. Winter had left, taking her heat with its last fading footsteps. Now that spring was here, she was enjoying the rising temperatures and blissful breezes that brought scents of flowers and the returning of prey to the lake. She had been sleeping her days away, being lazy and unsure of what to do with her time. When was the last time she had felt the presence of a man over her?! That was what she wanted and what she needed.

She opened her turquoise eyes that fateful day, yawned and stretched her legs before rising to all fours. She shook out her pelt to get rid of any matted places and felt the golden markings across her frame shimmer in what little sunlight streamed in through her entrance. Paws carried her to the outside world, where it widened in sight due to her leaving her hermit nature behind her. Plumage whipped behind her sweet form and as she took in the pretty scenery around her, she heard the sound of water splashing nearby. Curiosity hit her and she left her den to look from the woods at what caused the noise. What she saw would make her heart leap.

A smile appeared on her face and she slowly left the safety of the woods to step out into the sunlight. Her frame gleamed from the light, but her body wasn't as physically fit as it once was. Winter had caused her to starve herself, making her ribs gleam against her fur. She didn't look healthy and how she acted next would prove it. "Fendar..." she whispered before feeling the familiar rush of dizziness fall over her. Her legs buckled and she fell to the ground with a dull thud. Her world became dark and her eyes closed as her head bumped against the moist dirt.

Stars are only visible in darkness ,

Fear is ever-changing and evolving.

The man was still grumbling, eying the stupid damn shit fish that made him all wet. But at least he had killed it... cause now it was deader than dead. Groaning he pulled himself up to his legs, shaking the water from his fur. He was about to bend down an grab the fish when a glimmer of gold catching his bronze eye. Blinking, his head slowly turned to catch sight of Pandora standing on the edge of the forest, his name whispering off her lips. He smiled, made a move to come to her side. But the smile didn't last long, as the woman fell towards the earth. Fendar yelped and dove forward, but wasn't able to catch her head before it hit the earth. Eyes roamed her form, ribs sticking out of her frame. Her beautiful pelt hung off of her like a loose rag, hardly clinging to anything at all. Cursing rather loudly, Fendar paced in front of the woman. He knew that he shouldn't have left, he should have stayed right here and take care of her. Remembering the fish, he ran back and picked it up, dropping it by her nose.

The auburn male nosed it closer to her, whining as he lapped at her cheek. "Wake up Pandora, please wake up," he said softly, pressing his damp nose to the base of her ear. His fur was still cold and wet, and he thought that it might help rouse her. So stepping behind her, he easily lifted up her light form and scooted his larger body under her. He rested her on his damp body, curling around her and placing his neck against her own. "Come on sweet, wake up. I caught a fish for you, wake up hun," he said in a whisper, running is tongue across her slate blue form. He nibbled her neck, teeth pinching her skin softly. He didn't want to cut her up, but maybe, just maybe it would help wake her up. Damn it, he should have stayed, he knew he should have either done that or dragged her to Ebony. This was all his fault.

She was never the kind to be a damsel in distress. Her high and mightiness had come from Maija, but her more relaxed side regarding strangers came from Taurig. Now, however, she was a weakling, a stupid weakling who didn't properly take care of herself. She hadn't learned how to fight, how to properly catch her food, or even feed others. The fact was, Pandora was used to having others take care of her instead of taking care of herself.

As she laid in a world of darkness, she felt the nips and kisses from Fendar after he wrapped himself around her frame. The exhaustion from not sleeping well and eating right had taken its toll upon the gorgeous beauty and she began to come to as the world became more warm and bright. Pretty soon, she felt the sunlight streaming across her body, felt the muscles and fur of Fendar as he remained around her...and smelled the fish that he had caught. Her eyes slowly opened and what she saw first was the dead prey in front of her nose. She snapped forward, grabbing it without a thought, and began to wolf down the meat she could easily pull from its skeleton. Like a child, she made eating noises, grumbles that meant she wasn't wasting time chewing and swallowing. As she ate, she took in the familiar scent of Fendar and realized that he was right there.

Slowing down from her food, she turned her head up and looked at him with a sheepish expression. Turquoise eyes showed her exhaustion and as they slightly looked sunken in her face, she closed them to hide the shame. "Fendar..." she whispered again, tones also betraying how she had been the past few weeks. "I am...so glad to see you..." She heavily lowered her head against his chest, eyes closing as she took in his scent. Of all the times to be weak, it had to be when her knight showed up.
