Voltage had never had a true experiance of loss, aside from their banishment...but that was rather rejection than loss. He had never lost someone dear to him, even if at the time he felt like it. There had been a year where he thought he lost his family, but they had reunited rather quickly in the grand scheme of things. But this was different. There was a finality here, he could feel it, as he went in search of his first real Alacritis friend. The scent borders were missing, there was nothing here. No one...

It had taken a great deal of time to move from his home along the beach to the woods that Odette had taken up as a packland. He wanted to invite her to his home, now that they were officially settled, but...it seemed that something had happened. A fear gripped him as he crossed what should have been a scent marker, and trotted into the abandoned packlands. He remembered this place, remembered the tour she had taken him on...how proud she was of it. There was no scent of blood, no sign of a scuffle...but would it be possible that the snow had managed to cover that fact? Fear, like ice, trailed along his veins as he moved, searching for any sign of his friend...hoping that she would, once again, pop out of the snow to surprise him.

She was here because she was curious about Glaciem. She didn't know why Glaciem had suddenly disbanded, or what happened to its wolves. All she knew was that Sage was once part of Glaciem, and that was about it. In fact, the scent was fading now - it was almost entirely gone. You had to breathe pretty deeply to even catch the slightest whiff. When she did so, instead of catching Glaciem scent like she had before, she caught a different scent - and it made her head tilt. This male smelled like other wolves; he was obviously of a pack. Not Glaciem, obviously, but another.

It only took a moment for the male to appear, and then she sighed. Goddamnit. Another funky wolf. First Aki, with his tusks, then Marina with her damn rainbow-whatever-the-hell-you-called-it, and now this black and yellow wolf. It seemed they overran Alacritia now - although, truth be told, it didn't really bother her as much as she pretended mentally it did. It amused her, and at least she was getting practice in ignoring these little... oddities. With an easy smile on her face, her posture relaxed, she gave a wordless woof to grab the male's attention. "You looking for something?"

It was far too late, it seemed. All the scents were gone, he couldn't even make Odette's out anymore. A soft whine pulled from his throat as he plopped down in the snow, laying and staring at the distance. How easy was it...to just disappear like that? Too be so strong and situated and all of a sudden...just...gone. It made him fear for Donostrea, just slightly. While he was sure they were strong there was always the possibility that they would scatter one day. Even now it seemed that way, with more of his siblings falling in love, ready to begin their families. He was so indepth in his own thoughts that he barely heard the woman arrive, not untill she asked what he was searching for. With a jolt he lifted his head, stormy eyes quickly zeroing in on the woman. With a small, embarrased smile he nodded, slowly pulling himself up to sit in the snow. He shook just slightly to remove the white from his thick yellow fur, a toothy grin upon his lips, but it failed to stay. He couldn't be too happy here... "Yeah...I uh, the alpha of the pack that used to be here, she was my friend." He said softly, his deep tones sad as he looked at the snow that had once housed a pack, a family... "I was coming to visit, didn't realize it...wasn't here anymore."
