Kazimir Dragunov
High noon, and spring was very much in the air. Above him he could hear the chatter of the squirrels and birds either with their families or trying to start one. His bristled tail flickered behind him as he glanced upward, noting the brown and gray forms of the arboreal rodents skittering up and down the trunks of the large trees. They would make a wonderful snack, but his mind was more on exploring than stuffing yet another furry creature down his throat. Still, he licked his lips with a snort before his eyes moved back to his plane of habitat. Some of the trees around him were broken or uprooted, leaning every which way and creating quite interesting jungle gyms from their gnarled roots. It was obvious that the forest was ancient, and he almost felt bad using it as a form of entertainment. Almost.

His pace quickened and he trotted toward a rather large ball of roots halfway out of the earth. Blue eyes glanced along the curves of the root system before he crouched and launched himself forward. Dull claws and callused paws gripped at the dry wood, pulling himself up and onto the myriad of roots. His tail was high, switching this way and that to help him keep his balance. He peered ever upward, trying to judge the best path to get even higher.

Ivalice was full of kids and strangers, and he wasn't sure how to feel about that. Of course, they wouldn't be strangers if he got to know them all, and really there was no excuse to hold him back from talking to them and learning who was who. Maybe he'd do it...sooner or later. Just not now. For now, he'd go outside and dig around the roots of the giant trees to see what he could find. Frozen squirrel? Frozen bird eggs? Frozen nuts? Frozen...something. There was snow everywhere, not that he minded anymore since they'd been here for about three seasons now.

Large brown frame trekked across the terrain, the now full grown yearling soon to be two years old when autumn came, along with his brothers. And when fall came, Ivalice would also be a year in standing. Time flew pretty quick...and he hoped it would continue to stand. Even though he didn't show it as much as he should, he loved the pack and the fact that his mom had worked so hard to get it. He liked the ideals and the vision she had for it, and now he hoped things would get moving to start it all. Wait...He was thinking seriously for once! Oh gods, he hoped he wasn't becoming like Lykos. Pessimists were the worst kinds of party poopers and dream crushers. And his brother was seriously one of the most serious creatures he knew. "He's worse then a badger!"

Snorting at the thought, he paused in his steps when green eyes found a peculiar sight. A...wolf was climbing the trees...head tilted slightly, did he think he was a squirrel? He stood a couple yards away, watching as the wolf balanced and seemed to be trying to figure out how to get up there. "Hey uh...you know you're not a squirrel, right?" Maybe something was wrong with him.

Kazimir Dragunov
It took him a few minutes, but he was finally able to pick out what his next move should be. If he followed one particular root on his right, then crossed to that one... A voice snapped him from his thoughts, and he hurriedly looked toward the sound. Another wolf of varying colors of mud was staring at him, but the only word that Kazimir had actually caught was 'squirrel'. He nodded with a small smile, wondering if everyone caught squirrel this way.

"Da, belka gnezdo vyshe." Yes, the squirrel are nesting above. It wasn't until his words left his mouth that he realized the other more than likely did not speak his native tongue, and he barked out a self-depreciating laugh. The other male had spoken pure English. Kazimir took a deep breath, blue eyes glancing above as he tried his best to remember his meager lessons. "Squirrel. Ah, they.. They gnezdo. You know - baybee." His accent was extremely thick, his tongue having issues forming the odd vowels. He tilted his head, wondering if he understood. "Detka, da?" Baby, yes? He paused, waiting for some sort of understand from the brown male. "Chlimb tree, eat detka!" His tail began to wag, proud of his amazing communication skills.
