"So this is where your staying, hm." Pluto spoke to himself, front paws placed carefully on Enola's shoulder, head slowly sweeping from left to right to take in the new lands. It was unlike the areas he had stayed in when Enola was with her mother, wetter, and oddly shaped trees that almost looked like spider webs at the base. Quite a few times he had second guessed the blind female coming here, where the water could wash away scents and make things more difficult on her than it was already was. The only thing that put him at some sort of ease was the boy she had a liking for, her silver knight, Faolan. A good lad, Pluto approved. Enola lay on her side, eyelids closed and body completely relaxed. There were very few moments she could do such a thing, which was a reason why she had quickly taken a liking to her companion. Without him she was always on guard, ears constantly moving and trying to pick up every sound, nose sniffing the air for unfamiliar scents. Each step, cautious. "Yes, Faolan says it is a very nice place." Her lyrics were sweet, quiet. Front limbs slowly straightened in the direction of her head, toes spreading out as muscles were stretched, a soft moan slipping from the girls lips. The skunk would remain silent, he couldn't deny that it was nice, but he would want to check the place out some more to see what his friend was getting herself into. What plants should be avoided, types of prey, predators, all that important stuff as well as herbs. Done with his survey, the male was about to climb off Enola, but he would pause when his paw slide over something. Carefully he would slide is paw over the spot once more, dark eyes watching the fur bend over and reveal scars. Small ears folded back when he saw these, eyes softening and a sick feeling forming in his stomach. When did she get these? And why didn't she tell him about them? "Enola..." His voice would out as a soft whisper, head tilting down and dark eyes focusing on the girl. She had felt it, his paw running over the small missing streaks of fur. And in all honesty, it made her uneasy and self conscious. Shoulders shifted, and her eyelids would part to reveal those milky grey eyes of hers,, but rather than look to her companion, she would cast the downward towards the ground. There had not been hardly any time passed since he and Novella had been married, still high off the experience he felt as though he were still walking on the clouds. The punishment of collecting food for those within the pack had ended, but the habit he had formed over the last month. So he would still find himself grabbing the odd hare for Anthem or Novel, who had given birth but yesterday. Chocolate paws would carry him expertly over the tangled roots of the mangrove trees, it was easy to call this place home now. As he walked the soft spoken voices of two creatures would reach his ears, of course he was much too far away to make out any type of words, but still he was curious. He was still working on meeting everyone in the pack, and from the scent he did not know this girl. He could tell by the smell of things though that she might have tangled with the wrong end of a skunk. Though the scent was still light enough that she might not have gotten drenched. Curious, he would make his approach. He'd clear his throat before he became too close, not wanting to startle anyone so he'd announce his presence. There was a curious smile dancing over his features as his eyes would take in the small girl and the skunk. It was certainly an odd sight, seeing as the two seemed so comfortable with each other. He'd feel bad instantly when he saw the girl's expression upon him discovering her scars, the way she looked away and shifted uncomfortably. Was there a reason she didn't tell him yet, uncomfortable, self conscious, embarrassed? Whatever it was the male would wait till she thought the time was right, when she was comfortable enough to explain what had happened to her. So he would remove himself from her shoulder carefully, body shifting to the side, front paws hitting the ground. Lips were about to part in apology to his friend but a noise from nearby would stop him. Quickly his head raised in the direction it came from, spotting and unfamiliar wolf. His fur would puff up and tail raise, his body would also shift, becoming perpendicular to Enola and the male. ?Someone is here.? His tone was cautious, hushed only for the female. She had thought her friend would question her on the scars she had earned as a child, but thankfully he wouldn't say anymore and would climb off. But then she could feel him quickly move behind her,his tail brushing her hip and telling her somebody was here. Ears shot up and quickly she would fold her legs in then shift to get them beneath her, body was lifted, head low and hackles beginning to raise. She had learned to trust him, that when he told her somebody was here, she should believe him and be wary. Have her defenses up in case he couldn't drive the person away. Almost like a guard dog, Pluto had taken his post in front of Enola. Tail was up, his body ready to deliver the bomb should this stranger be hostile. Beady eyes watched every move, small rounded ears listening to every sound. Thankfully the stranger had stopped a respectful distant away, wearing a smile that made the skunk a bit uneasy. Then he spoke, introducing himself as Frith, new here and was here to make their acquaintance. Pluto would narrow his eyes, standing his ground. Should he believe him? ?New, ey?? He questioned, tail slightly waving. ?Ludicael member?? He added on, little nose sniffing at the air, trying to catch his scent and see if it held that hint that Faolan also had. Enola remained silent while Pluto spoke to the man, from the scent he gave off and sound of his voice she determined. He knew what to do, and if he believed the man could be trusted and wasn't lying, then the girl would also be able to. Both creatures would react at his appearance, he was surprised at how defensive they were within their own home and fond himself taking a step back at the Skunks aggression. Oddly it would be the smaller skunk that would talk, and thankfully use his nose to detect the Ludicale scent upon him. "Yes, and Yes." He would nod, not making any further approach unless invited. He hadn't meant to disturb anyone so thoroughly. "Um, also, I'm sorry if I disturbed something. I'm just trying to meet everyone." Still his smile was curious, but becoming more friendly. This girl too did not share in the Destruction blood, what had brought her here in the first place? He'd take a closer look at the girl, even from the distance noticing the silver lining of her eyes. Narrowed eyes would relax for a brief moment, a sliver of surprise appearing in the skunk's eyes at the man taking a step back. As quickly as it had shown the surprise would quickly be washed away, the small animal holding his ground. He should be happy that he took a step back and away from the precious treasure behind him. Loccian had entrusted her daughter's safety to not only Faolan and his pack, but in Pluto as well. Rounded ears caught the man's answers to his questions, confirming that he was new and was apart of Ludicael as well. Pluto raised a brow to this, debating whether he should trust the fellow even if he held a similar scent to Enola's crush. Enola remained silent behind her companion, waiting for the cue that would allow her to relax. Ears were up and alert, listening and catching every sound created around her, both soft and loud. The man had moved back, the scratchy grass giving it away, and his voice, it was almost kind. Her head tilted to the right, almost moving forward the slightest as though curious, wanting to hear more yet holding back till her companion gave the okay. Pluto's tail would waver, but not from growing tired or uncertainty. No, he was thinking, debating what he should do next. The apologized, for disturbing them when he had approached, explaining that he was just trying to meet everyone. The skunk would take this as a green light, his tail carefully, and purposely lowering slowly. His body would also slowly turn, angling himself so that his front half was towards his friend and rear a bit towards the stranger. His head was swung towards her, making a small chattering sound by his teeth connecting to let her know she could relax. The skunk however would catch the man eyeing up his friend, and immediately he would swing around and take a few quick steps towards the man. Eyes narrowed and tail raising once more, but not angling himself to face it towards the man. ?Hey now!? He'd bark, tone growing serious. ?I don't appreciate you eyeing up a taken girl, have some respect man!? He lifted his head, almost displeased by Frith now. ?Pervert.? He'd add but grumbling under his breath. Completely taking the look the wrong way and just seeing the man as some old pervert checking out younger girls. With Pluto's chattering, Enola's lips would curl up in a small smile. Her body would relax, head lifting and tail curling around her hip. The coast was clear, they could trust this Frith, at least for now. But she suddenly grow confused by the sound of her companion moving quickly away from her, brows coming together and a hesitant paw lifted hanging in the air. Milky grey eyes moved form side to side, ears twitching, trying to hear what was going on. What had suddenly gotten into her friend after giving the okay? All of a sudden he was barking at the man, and then spoke about not liking how he was checking out a taken girl, that he should have some respect. Taken? Oh! The blind girl would flush with color, ears pinning back against her skull and taking a step back in embarrassment. ?Pluto!? She gasped, shocked that he seriously just said that. But she wasn't sure what she should be more embarrassed of, the fact that her friend called out the two's close friendship, or that Pluto had called out the man checking her out. Frith almost found it odd that he?d not met this girl yet, having been hunting for the less than ables members of the pack he had a suspicion that she had eaten many of his kills. He had been hunting for almost a whole moon now, the punishment would be over soon and he and Novella would be able to breath again. Not that he minded doing such tasks, he was happy to prove himself to Dutiron and Novel. He? watch as the girl became curious, though obviously she was patient and would trust her companion to do the assessing. With his given apology though her guard skunk would relax, but still he would not allow a trust to form. He?d let his friendly smile return, but confusion would overcome his features as the skunk turned back around start started yelling at him again. Frith had no idea what the black and white animal was talking about either, ?eyeing up a taken girl, pervert.? what in the world was this creature saying? Obviously he?d done something to displease the animal, all Frith thought he was doing was looking at her. Was that not allowed? If someone was blind should you not look at them? Was that was a pervert was? Someone who looked at blind wolves? ?I?m sorry? I wont look at her again.? He?d avert his gaze to elsewhere in the woods, he?d have to remember to keep his eyes off blind wolves in the future. ?This is the first pack I?ve been in, I guess I?m still trying to catch up on my missed etiquette.? image by yumpy <3
