OOC: Aranea is expecting Asharya but this thread is intended for Ashiel

She had nothing left to live for. Her son was stolen from her, her daughter disappeared in the night. Well, they all did anyway. Ty felt the need to grab Rain and flee without a word. She always just wanted him to speak up to her. She felt out of the loop with Cloud around, but that was probably her own fault anyway. She was having these internal problems. If she had felt better about herself maybe she could have saved Dauntless and her family.

But something had crossed her mind. Before she was pregnant she escaped the clutches of slavery, though it wasn't really slavery maybe. At that time it sure felt like it. But now that she had nothing to live for, perhaps it would give her something. She was too embarrassed to go back to Abaven and having pups young made it worse in her mind. Sparrow would have brought her back with open arms but she just couldn't face it.

She came to the borders where she tracked the young girl's last scents. Maybe it wasn't really her scent, her family was living her after all which was unknown to Aranea. She would remain standing, eyes keen on her horizons. She was frail, but she managed to bathe herself before wanting to come across the fiery girl. What would she be worth if she looked like a straight dirty corpse? A beautiful and quiet call crossed the pack lands, they would know what it was for.

you don't leave anything to chance with your bloody hands

Ice had fallen from the sky in little round pellets for the better part of the morning much to Ashiel's dismay. He was ready for spring to make itself known to Auster. However, it would seem the spirits that moved and changed the seasons were intent on taking their sweet time. When at last the precipitation had stopped and given way to a cool, cloudy morning Ashiel left his den to pick back up on his patrol. He had several canyon paths to check and as he moved toward the southern path he heard a delicate call cross into his packlands. Ashiel's brow furrowed as the faintest hint of recollection tickled his memory. He felt like he should know this voice but he could conjure neither name nor face to match it.

Moving swiftly to the source of the call he was surprised to find Aranea, the woman he'd met from Dauntless some time back.  He smirked as he trotted over to her. "Well, this is a surprise. Did Dauntless send you?  I must say, you are in a state!  The journey must've been quite hard on you. I hope your daughter is well." Not that he was terribly surprised. She had seemed like a fragile creature even back then. Ashiel wondered how her daughter was doing but he was even more curious as to why Dauntless would send someone to speak with him. Was it to beg for mercy? For alliance to be spared from conquest?  Oh, this would be good… although… she really didn't smell that much like Dauntless anymore.  His eyes narrowed. Something had happened but he waited patiently to hear it from her own lips.

To her surprise, a familiar face would come to view and greet her. She was beyond alarmed to see Ashiel, a young brute she met quite some time ago. She wasn't expecting him to show up here, was this his pack? Well, Tyranis was ruling at a young age before two years old anyway. Perhaps not that surprising.

"Dauntless in no longer attached." She spoke softly though not wanting to talk too much about it. She would be more than willing to talk about it later, so long as the two wolves were still on good terms. "I've come to turn myself in... I owe a life debt to a girl named Asharya." She kept her best to sound as serious as possible, but what if Ashiel turned her away? She would be sure to convince him she would be of service to his pack as well, and not act like she were tied down as a slave or anything like that.

But the thought of Nuada put a pit in her stomach. Still trying to keep a collected form, she  would turn her gaze away from the brute but with a quick return up to his giant figure. "What... Daughter?" A hint in her eyes as if to say she knew he knew but it was like she was turning over a blank page and starting a-new. He had to see the pain in her crystal optics as well, knowing that she didn't abandon or kill her child/children either.

you don't leave anything to chance with your bloody hands

The grin fell from Ashiel's face at the mention of Dauntless no longer seeming to be around. At least, he thought that was what she meant. It was difficult to tell. Aranea spoke softly and it was easy to see she was worn down. Had something happened? He knew it could not be the work of his family or he'd known about it. Perhaps internal strife? With these mortals it was impossible to know. Aranea continued to surprise him though as she stated she owed a life debt to Asharya. He'd have thought she was kidding if not for the fact that she knew his sister's name.

Ashiel sighed. And of course Asharya had not returned from her mission or her wandering or wherever it was she'd gotten off to now. She was getting to be as bad as Pyralis if not worse. "Asharya is my sister and a member of this pack but she's not here at the moment. She's away on a mission and may be gone for some time." Crap, what should he do with her? He really didn't need any more healers but if this girl was sworn to Asharya he knew he'd have to deal with his sister's ire for turning her away.

The woman's answer to his question about Nuada suddenly set a lump in his stomach and he turned to her with a snarl. "What do you mean what daughter? Nuada, obviously. Did she go with her father then?" He wasn't quite sure why it mattered to him in that moment. This was a mortal child and no concern of his but he needed to know that the girl hadn't simply been abandoned. There was a sting in his own heart at the thought of it but not for the girl… no, maybe it was his own concerns. As he'd gotten older he was beginning to see his own life in a new light.

She would only seem a little puzzled to hear that Asharya wasn't here, but also not surprised as her scents weren't as strong as they should be. She would try to brush it off, and hopefully try to get to stick around until the time came. "Maybe I can help you out while she's away. Perhaps put in some time as well?" Aranea wasn't any old healer, or any young trainee for that matter. "I can teach your members about poisons and how to smell them out and such. I promise I won't be a burden to anyone..."

But his lingering words of Nuada would sting at her every part. The thought of Ty and her children nearing a tear drop per every word the young brute spoke. "I don't... I don't know..." She fought back emotional hiccups to try and regain as much composure as possible to little avail. "Ty... Tyranis stole my son from me without a word. And Nuada... left me in the middle of the night. I don't know where she is or if she's even alive at this point. If I had a choice I'd still be living on the peak with them by my side!" Screw Ty and everybody else. No mother wanted to lose their child, and a young mother for that matter? She was barley learning, since Nuada left she felt like a true failure. "I don't know what to do anymore." Her gaze was turned down into the dirt and she was carefully pulling in quiet sniffles, "I've looked for her, I've looked for him, they're just gone..."

you don't leave anything to chance with your bloody hands

Ashiel stewed as he thought on the woman's words. Seth was as skilled a healer as any and so were his aunts. He had no need for any more but perhaps Aranea would make a fair assistant, after all she was meek enough to follow orders and do as she was told until he could figure out what to do with her. That was the rub… under normal circumstances he'd have casted her away but if she owed a debt to Asharya then he wanted to see it paid even if he felt uncertain of her worth. His eyes narrowed as he mulled over her answer regarding Nuada. So Tyrannis had stolen her son and Nuada had disappeared in the middle of the night? Ashiel's eyes closed and he sighed. That was unfortunate indeed and by the tone in he voice he could guess that Tyranis would not be easy to find, not that Ashiel owed Aranea the time of day.

"My sister is very dear to me, even if it has been some time since we were last together. If you indeed owe her a debt then I would see it paid. Yet, take heed. You will be expected to show your value and contribute to the pack. You say you don't know what to do anymore? Well, here is what you will do. Devote yourself to the Eclipse Empire and the health and betterment of all that live here. You will be accepted as a Healer. Fail to live up to this expectation and you will be swiftly demoted. Come, I will show you where we keep our densite." He gazed at her expectantly for a moment then turned on his heels and strode back into the territory.

As her eyes lay down to the grasses of his paws, Aranea would sniffle at the end of his acceptance for a deserving "Thank you." And look up to him with a tiny grin. She would try to regain composer to enter into the newfound lands that she hoped to call home one day and she were hopeful. If Ashiel could show her this kindness of bringing her in as one of his own pack members, than perhaps they could grow a friendship as she felt like she could with the rest of the pack.

Nuada slipping to the back of her mind, she would try to forget about her past and live on another day. She were feeling much better than when her family escaped her and she felt the world turning up in favor now. "I promise I won't let you down." She spoke before going to follow him inside. Still a hang in her head as her depression would stick to the outside of her tiny form. She needed to help herself before she helped anyone.
