Only the stars know

Naiche lay next to one of the many water runoffs, his gaze looking up at the dark sky that housed countless jewels that defied the darkness they hung in. Naiche knew the constellations, from the canus stars to the giant bear, a crab, and several others. “So Pan, wolves are up there, how about pangolins?” Pan was standing next to him instead of being in a tree for once, yet still silent so Naiche imagined it wouldn’t hurt to acknowledge and talk to the strange creature this time. At the question, it raised a hand and pointed at the sky, which of course could be any number of the stars on such a night. “If you say so, Pan.” Naiche didn’t see a pangolin up there but who could say for sure. “The one on the left up there, those bright ones are the cat's eye.” Naiche held up a paw as if he could point them out well, no better than Pan had really. Naiche hadn’t spent time stopping to look at the stars in a while, some part of him had just needed to remember that he could. It was peaceful tonight, the wind offered a bit of a cool breeze. It had just seemed like the perfect night to forget sleeping in a den when one could sleep under the stars. Speech:"Live to fight" Think
