His mind was on Aslatiel as he lifted the pack onto his back full of extra supplies they could trade. Everyone had their own bed rolls portioned out so the rest of the furs, minus a few for guests, were just taking up extra weight. He also packed a few of his herbs from the collection they carried with them. Thesewere also mostly extra with a couple more valuable thrown in. Just in case they saw something that got a little out of budget. They needed pack animals. He thought that he had tracked someone with goats, he just hoped they were willing to trade. Everyone was willing to carry, and they were indeed managing, but their pace was slow. They barely made it past the Hallows at this point. They needed pack animals to truly see the vision of the nomad band.

Of course the trip would not be complete without Gypsy at his side, the one who’s idea had really sold him on the idea of caring for goats. They had so many purposes they could put to good use out in the wilds without the protection of a pack’s border around them. Without somewhere permanent to call home. Instead of storing dead meat, they’d be able to keep it on the animal. Fresh and ready for harvest.

But he was counting his goats before he traded for them. They were approaching the group now, Indigo called out, already able to see the animals that were lying down chewing their cud. A young woman approached the pair, obviously curious about her guests. ”Hello, what can I help you with?” She questioned with a tilt of her head as she invited them into the camp. ”A bit of a trade if you’ll have it.” He started politely. ”I’m Indigo and this is Gypsy,” He gestured to his beautiful companion. ”We’re in the market for goats.”

A soft word from Indigo had Gypsy trailing along beside him. She didn't walk as much behind him anymore, her confidence having been boosted just a bit by her time in the group. Periodically, her shoulder brushed against his. The tiny woman also didn't mind the physical contact with Indigo. In fact, she kind of liked it. In her past, touch usually meant pain and abuse. With Indigo, it had never been anything negative. She still wasn't comfortable touching the rest of the members of the group, but that was no surprise. Indigo was her savior. She would do her best to give him what he wanted.

Before they arrived at the traders camp, Gypsy could smell the thick, earthy tang of livestock. Goats in particular. A woman's voice met them and the small, shy fae tucked her ears for a moment, taking a step into Indigo's protective shadow. She listened as Indigo opened the discussion for trade. As the pair of wolves haggled, Gypsy couldn't help herself. The small, unassuming woman crept away from the pair of wolves and made her way towards the goats. She could hear them chewing and murmuring. Already Gypsy felt comforted by their presence.

A thickly accented voice spoke to the young woman and Gypsy froze in place, blind eyes going wide. "Doona walk behind that one, love. He'll kick ye." The sheep seemed to note Gypsy's blindness. A moment later it scoffed lightly. "Och, ye we bairn. Ye canna see." The sounds of movement caught Gypsy's ears and there was a little scuffle followed by a bit of cursing. The rich scent of sheep entered Gypsy's nose before a rounded face pressed against the girl's collared neck. The small wolf didn't balk against the touch, she simply turned with the sheep and started moving back towards Indigo.

Following Indigo's scent, Gypsy stopped and looked up to where she thought his face might be, though who knew if it was actually there? "I want that one, she spoke softly. The moment that the creature had touched, her, Gypsy had felt a connection. She didn't know what the sheep looked like and she knew that they had come here for goats in particular, but she needed that sheep.

He had one eye on Gypsy, but that also meant only half of his attention. So he knew that she was around the livestock he didn’t realize what kind of trouble she could potentially get herself into. Indigo spoke to the mouthpiece as she offered him some of their stock, she seemed a little relieved almost that he had appeared. She spoke about how they’d had an incredible crop of kids this year but they were struggling with the resources to keep them. The big decision was coming up to harvest, but knowing they would go on to help start a new group of traders obviously brightened the woman.

They were coming up with a good deal after Indigo had laid out everything he had to offer her. A buckling, a couple doelings, an experienced wether, and as Gypsy returned with an old, flashy looking ewe the trader screwed up her expression. That particular sheep wouldn’t have been a difficult decision, but she could see the way she followed the young lady around. She wasn’t that gentle with anyone.

Gypsy looked up to him with her unseeing silver gaze, her request soft but much less hesitant than her very first request out of him. She knew she could ask him whatever she wished and he would do whatever he could to provide her deepest desires. If she wanted the sheep he would move the heavens if it was called for. He looked back up to the trader woman and she surprised him.

”And do me a favor and take that ewe. She gives us nothing but trouble.” Indigo was a little surprised at the honesty he was being given by a woman who made her living haggling. Maybe it was because she had a soft spot for his endeavors. That and she knew hardly anything about herbology. ”Really? Thank you. So much for everything.” He shook his head in disbelief. ”This is going to help us so much.” He beamed down at Gypsy despite her being unable to see him. He reached down and nosed her cheek affectionately, ”We have a herd of goats. And one sheep.” Better than that they had a cart too. He looked up to the odd horned ungulate, uncertain but unwilling to doubt Gypsy’s desire.

As Indigo haggled with the goatherd, Gypsy stayed with the sheep. She found out that the sheep's name was Bertha and she was quite a rare commodity. It was so surprising then for Gypsy's sharp ears to pick up the goatherd telling them to simply take Bertha. The purple and white fae's brows lifted in surprised and a moment later Indigo came to share the good news. He pressed his nose into the tiny dame's cheek and she couldn't help but smile. "Och, just givin' me awaeeee, is she?" The sheep grumbled and stamped a cloven hoof. "I'm sure it's because I toold her that the soap that she makes isn't done raight," she sheep whispered conspiratorially into Gypsy's ear. The lady stifled a giggle with one paw. "Raight, you lot!" Bertha barked at the small herd of goats that now belonged to Indigo and his band. "Move out!" Without any complaint, the goats did as the big, bulky sheep bid.

Gypsy took a moment to lean up and place a soft kiss to Indigo's cheek. "Thank you, Indigo." She kissed his cheek again. "There's something about her that I really like." Something that the girl sorely needed. From the instant that Bertha had opened her mouth, Gypsy could tell that the sheep was a born and bred mother. Maybe they could all use a little mothering.

From a short distance away, Bertha watched, clearing her throat loudly. "If we doona get awaee from here now, it'll be full dark afore we're... whereeever we're goin'." Gypsy once again laughed softly and kept close to Indigo as she began to walk towards her new companion.
