Ancient Isle

Location: Daager Isle
The island reminded her a lot of The Forgotten Isle off of Auster. Before they even made their way more inland, she could tell by the structures that were walls along the forest lines. Buildings that were once created, maybe by wolves or something they didn't know. She turned to Segin as they left the ocean from their swim, shaking her pelt and not minding the feel of the salt water on her. And then she started to move inland to explore the ruins of the ancient island. It wasn't that amazing for her to lay eyes on the structures, but they were still different than the ones she had seen before. She wondered if there was anything of interest they could take back for the band's collection.

He had never been out to an island before now, but he was of course willing to follow Duchess' lead as she took them out across the stretch of ocean to the island that waited for them. Silver eyes scanned the shore as they got close enough to start making out more details, looking from the lush vegetation to the crumbling buildings that were hidden in the trees. He had often wondered what kind of creatures built these things. It was something he had wondered when they were living in the castle and it reoccured to him now. Pulling himself onto the beach, he gave himself a good shake as well and gave Duchess a grin before they started moving into island, curiously eyeing the structures and odd things that surrounded it.

Moving forward with Segin, she moved toward the structures that were somewhat hidden by the forest but overlooked the beach. Whoever made the buildings must have been thinking of the view of the sands and the ocean, Duchess could agree to that line of thought. She moved into an entryway of one of the first, most noticeable buildings of the Island and carefully moved around inside for Segin to join her. Once he was inside too, she looked around the room, "This reminds me of The Forgotten Isle." She had only been the once with Indigo, and she wasn't really used to these strange structures just like Segin. But even the castle was much different than these island structures, and the islands also hosted the large boats that were no longer buoyant in the water. If she was very honest though, she didn't care much for these very enclosed spaces. She would have much rather slept in a common den, a large cave, or under the stars. Maybe she felt a little claustrophobic, even in the castle in the room they all shared with Indigo. The four walls felt like they would close in on her, but she was able to push past it for a quick scouting. She moved forward more into the building, looking into cabinets and wardrobes, looking for things that they could take back for the band.

Segin followed Duchess into one of the structures, passing through an entry way while his silver gaze shifted up to look around at the room hidden inside. He hummed thoughtfully when she mentioned that it reminded her of another island. He hadn't actually made it out to the Forgotten Isle while they were in Auster, but it was on his list to visit whenever he made it back down to the southern continent. He imagined that there was probably even more places around Auster and Boreas that might have odd buildings or artifacts of creatures long forgotten though besides those two islands and the castle they had stayed in. Perhaps as they continued to explore they'd find even more of them. As she started looking through the room they had entered for things that could be collected, Segin walked over to a seating area made of a few plush chairs gathered around a table. The fabric on the chairs was aged and thread bare in a couple of places, but still in fairly good condition since it was out of the elements. After it was cleaned up a bit and dusted off it'd be perfectly usable. "Might be worth trying to pull the fabric off of these to make them into bandages or bags," he called over to Duchess while he nosed one of the cushions off of the chair and onto the floor.

Duchess went over to Segin when he spoke of the chair cushions, and watched as he knocked one down. She couldn't disagree with him, so she started collecting some of the cushions too. Though, she wasn't sure if they would be ruined on the swim back over. They would probably have to rip them up when they got back to camp to lay them out and dry out. It wouldn't be too difficult at least, Segin's idea was at least worth it. They needed more bags for traveling, and keeping extra fabric for bandages wouldn't hurt.
It was hard to gather the cushions, but she figured they could make it work. It might have been easier for the swim back at least. She waited for Segin before moving to head out of the building and back towards the beach and ocean. They could always come back to the island for more scouting another time.

With Duchess' help he opened up a couple of the cushions that were already partially ripped and pulled the fabric off of them and gathered up a couple of smaller cushions that couldn't be so easily taken apart. Once they got back and had some more tools at their disposal they'd be able to dismantle them more easily, but for now this would be good enough. At least they were able to find something that wasn't as easily found every where and they'd certainly make use of the material some how. With their haul for the trip secured he followed her out of the building and back down to the shore so that they could head back to the main land. It was a pretty quick trip, but a productive one none of the less.
