Legacy Ancora

The atmosphere was one that cheered Legacy immensely, though she hadn’t been feeling all that sad to begin with. She still had her mother and half-siblings to spend time with, until they moved on again, and her father was a joy in her life.

When she and Fidelias were listed as racing opponents, she grinned. She hadn’t quite had a chance to better know her cousin—maybe this was a chance.

She sought him out as a race finished, calling softly to him as she spotted him. He was dark-coated, and his tail was little more than a bunny fluff.

“Hey, Fidelias, is it? I’m Legacy Ancora, Paladin’s daughter. It’d so good to meet one of my cousins. Are you ready to race?”

Her eyes twinkled as her black and silver tail slowly wagged. He was just the first she meant to track down tonight. She'd heard Kaija and Arne's names called, and was distinctly certain her father had said those names when he'd told her about her aunt's children.

Legacy speaks with a heavy Irish brogue type accent, but is perfectly understandable as she tends to speak clearly and enunciates well.

Legacy is nearly always clad in her Deer Hide Armor when on outings, mainly because you never know when you'll find an herb to take home. Unless stated otherwise, it's relatively safe to assume she's wearing it.

Fidelias wasn't built for racing. He knew that. But he also knew that he needed to learn to coax as much speed from his burly form as he could to be an effective hunter, so he would need to do a whole lot more running. He stepped up to the line, looking only indirectly at his opponent, though her words drew his attention anyway. Paladin had kids? She was around his age, which confused him because he was certain he'd never seen her, even from a distance, and he froze up in uncomfortable confusion. It seemed weird and awkward to apologize for having no idea she existed, but he didn't know what else to say. "Oh... yes. It's... good to meet you," he settled for parroting, his head swinging slightly to bring his gaze further away from her, settling instead vaguely on the course ahead of them. "I am ready."

Legacy was astute enough to notice Fidelias’ awkwardness, and so she didn’t push for more interaction, nodding and offering a faint smile as she settled into a ready stance, calling the count-down, before pushing off after a quick “Go! You’ll do great!”

She swept forward, tail flagging in a brief wag as she fell into the steady strides, not reaching for her top speed as she bounded down the makeshift track.

Perhaps with time, and a little dedication, she’d warm her cousin to at least being friends. She’d respect his boundaries, not force him to interact when he wasn’t ready. One could only hope that her only remaining cousin in the pack – with the other two, Kaija and Arne, having gone their own ways beyond Valhalla – would eventually be close enough for him to feel somewhat comfortable around her.

She glanced toward the boy. Of course, if he wanted no part of it, she’d abide by it. It’d sting, but she, as a healer, knew better than to force an issue if it would be a detriment. For now, she let herself enjoy the feeling of the cold river wind in her fur, and the zing of her own strength in her legs as she ran.
