This Is The End
Cerberus

The paw stroking her back was comforting and she appreciated the gesture. As they lay there and she told him what she'd been through, he surprised her by saying that he'd lost his mother as well. A frown tugged at obsidian lips and Val's brows drew together. "I'm sorry," she spoke softly. Touch was important to the girl, so she moved her paw to settle over his larger one as if, in doing so, she could more clearly convey her sorrow for him. For them both.
Cerberus assured her that she wouldn't be alone or in jeopardy if she stayed on the island. The girl nodded, accepting his words as truth. That didn't meant that she wanted to be physically alone, however. Having him here with her made a huge difference in her mental well being and she truly appreciated him.
"Thank you for everything," she voiced her appreciation again, a huge yawn following at the end of her words. The days events had taken their toll and the girl was thoroughly exhausted. "When I'm healed enough, I'll make it up to you. You'll see." She would be the absolute best servant. She would hunt for him, guard him, do whatever tasks he had for her. Val would be his.

Cerberus kept rubbing her back gently as she thanked him. He wouldn't accept or deny what she was offering though. She didn't need to do anything for him in his eyes. Though the longer he was here beside her, the more he didn't want to release her back outside of Fenmyre. Outside of the island really. She was too young and too weak to stay out of the paws of who had hurt her. And with the fact that she wanted Cerberus' sense of ownership, he knew she wouldn't defend herself.
"Just focus on resting for now." Was all he could really whisper to her. His paw gently moving up and down on the pelt between them. The drugs he gave her would hopefully keep her out for the night and she wouldn't have to worry about nightmares plaguing her tonight. He couldn't do that for her every night though. After it seemed like she fell asleep wrapped up in the pelt, he too laid his chin down between his paws. His body was there behind her so she could lean on him, but he wasn't wrapping himself around her. And he too would fall asleep easily with that extra warmth he had been missing since he was given his own room.
Cerberus slept more soundly than he had in a while. Maybe the events of yesterday, or maybe just the comfort he found in the wolf beside him. Normally he would have been up at this time, he may have even missed his early morning patrol... The dogs were still on the porch though. They were tired from yesterday too. Cerberus would still stay there sleeping completely unaware of the life he had on the island. As if he never had duties there and maybe like he was back in his younger days just lounging in Siren's den as she cuddled him. He didn't have any thoughts other than resting.
