Empousa so far had seen many beautiful places, but this was gorgeous. She found herself wanting to lay down and roll in the flowers that coated the cliffs, it was a spectacular sight. She didn't have any plans to complete it today! It was just a day for relaxing and finding some company, after all, connections are always a good thing. Extremely useful for the future, the more people you know and the more that like you will always be more beneficial than knowing no one.

Empousa finds herself settling by the cliff side, stretching her forelegs over it after she maybe triple-checked that it wasn't going to crumble beneath her weight. She couldn't be too cautious after all. She was excited to see what was thrown her way!

It was rare Jay wander this far from home, but today she felt a little spark lit under her. Part of her wondered where her sister had gone off to, but it hadn't been quite long enough to really start worrying yet. Making her way east, the woman marveled at the sights here. The field stretched on as far as the eye could see, brimming with the heady scent of flowers and vegetation. She breathed in a deep breath of air and held it in her lungs, exhaling slowly as she took a few slow steps forward.

Spotting someone up ahead near the cliff's edge, Jay let out a friendly bark. Though she lived a rather reclusive little life, Jay was social to the core, and the prospect of meeting someone new excited her. A gentle smile graced the woman's lips as she strode forward, tail giving a slow wag. "How's the view over that way?" She asked, genuinely curious, though the thought of lingering so close to the edge of the cliff face was a little unsettling.

The fae's head turned as she heard the greeting bark of another woman, letting a soft smile fall onto her face. As she watched her approach, her eyes trained on her. She was quite pretty to Emmy's standards, a brown coat with rather delicate markings. If given the chance she would remember to compliment her on it later in their meeting. As she spoke Empousa offered a grin, before turning her head towards the ocean. "It is quite beautiful, I think anyway. Although it will be even nicer with someone even prettier to share it with!" She would purr out the last part with a teasing wink.

"It is my first time here, couldn't stop myself from investigating further. Although I was a little skeptical myself about getting so close to the edge, it has proven worth it though. It's freeing." She would say, she knew others weren't as keen as to do something risky. So she offered her reassurance before pointing her head to the spot next to her, "I am Empousa by the way, I promise I won't bite." She'd promise, hoping not to scare away the brown-colored woman. She would give her time to respond, watching her eagerly before asking.

"What brings you here?" Her head tilted in curiosity.

The compliment made heat rise to her face. All things considered, Jay really was little more than a farm girl- she didn't tend to venture far beyond the borders of her home, sheltered when it came to wolves who were outside her immediate circle. She certainly didn't know how to gracefully take a compliment, and she immediately found herself fumbling over her words as she fought to reply. "I'm not- I'm just- you're very pretty too," she managed to say, feeling thoroughly tongue-tied.

Despite feeling awkward, Jay's positive demeanor didn't falter much. The smile she wore was a genuine one, full of warmth as she examined the stranger. "I haven't been this way either. It's so pretty, though," she reiterated, taking a few steps forward. Warily she'd move forward, glad to sink down alongside the stranger and take a short rest. She stretched her paws out in front of her before sliding down onto her belly. "It's a pleasure, Empousa." Her name sounded so foreign, unlike anything she'd ever heard before. "My name's Jay Destruction. You must not be from around here, then?" Hopefully that wasn't too forward of a question.

Empousa's lips twitched onto a faint smirk as she watched the fae stumble over her words. The awkwardness was... endearing, in a way she hadn't expected. She wasn't used to people being so unguarded, so naive? She was unsure of what word could best possibly describe the girl in front of her. It was a little disarming to Empousa, but not in a way she hated.

"Pretty too, huh?" She repeated her tone was light and teasing. There was a subtle flicker of amusement in her eyes as she watched the girl try to recover from her awkwardness. The unfaltering smile made Emmie curious about the girl, she wanted to know why she was so, well, kindhearted.

At the woman's introduction, Empousa paused for a moment, "Jay Destruction," she would let the name roll over her tongue, repeating it aloud like it would help her memorize the name to the face, "Sounds fierce, it's a good name. Although you seem nicer than the name suggests." She would offer back with a relaxed grin.

Empousa shifted, leaning back a little as she glanced around the area. Her eyes found their way back to Jay, "Nah, I'm not from around here," the way she said it was casual, eyes leaving the face of the femme before she spoke, "I have always moved around a lot. Haven't found a place yet that has kept my attention for very long. Now Jay, where are you from?" Her tone was nonchalant, but there was a hint, a mere suggestion of something else there like she was letting Jay in on a small piece of her without even noticing it.

Her crimson gaze returned to Jay, linger a bit longer this time. "You're different than all the others I've had the pleasure of meeting," except for the pups she's met, few keep that innocence, and softness pups have as they grow, "Not in a bad way, of course! Just not used to it. But maybe that says something about the company I've kept." She whispered the last part, shaking her head softly before turning back to Jay. She was eager to hear whatever leaves her lips next.

Jay nodded a bit dumbly as Empousa reiterated what she'd said. She'd never really stopped to think just what features she found attractive in other wolves- most of the wolves she knew were either her own family, or packmates she'd grown up around. She liked the other wolf's deep red eyes, such a stark contrast to her own pale sea-green orbs. Still a little flustered, she tried her best to continue on and not seem so much like a bumbling fool. "Yeah, the name doesn't exactly suit any of my family," she admitted with a toothy grin. Maybe other branches of her family tree, but certainly not her closest kin, who were about as far from destructive as wolves came.

The other wolf admitted she wasn't from around here. She sounded nomadic, with the sort of lifestyle that admittedly intrigued her. Sometimes she wondered what it'd be like, to pick up and just go, but her roots were planted so firmly here she feared she might lose part of herself if she ever really left. Like she'd leave part of herself there, trapped in old barn boards and orchard trees. "I'm from west of here- from a pack called Avalon," Jay explained with ease. Sharing information like that about herself felt inconsequential, especially given the peaceful nature of Avalon. "We're a small little farming pack. Nothing too exciting," she added with a soft laugh, not trying to downplay what she said, but it wasn't untrue- life in Avalon was simple, just the way she liked it.

Another comment was made about her, this time not about her appearance but her personality in general. "Oh? I'm glad it's not in a bad way!" Jay found herself chuckling again. For a moment she let her attention drift, looking out across the water at the large island across the way. "You ever been over there? It looks awfully nice." Jay gestured to the tropical island, curious if Empousa's journeys had led her that way or not yet.

Empousa tilted her head slightly, observing Jay with a softened, curious gaze as she spoke. She thought Jay was quite endearing, she found her interesting. She wanted to see where this would go. There was a certain innocence that Jay carried that Empousa found intriguing like she didn't belong to the harsher parts of the world. She was curious to learn more about her. She nodded as Jay spoke of her family and pack.

"Avalon? Hmm." she said softly as if she needed to repeat it to remember it, "A farming pack sounds...peaceful. Can't say I've ever found myself around a place like that." She offered with an amused smirk. "My life has been more.. unpredictable. Maybe a little too much for other wolves even." She chuckled to herself softly, before turning her head to look the fae in the eyes. "I would be willing to tell you a story or two though, about my time here and my time in other places." It was a genuine statement, not hinting at anything else.

When Jay gestured toward the island, Empousa's gaze followed, narrowing as she considered her question carefully. "I have thought about it, but I haven't made the trip yet," she replied, casting a sidelong glance at Jay with a subtle grin. "Maybe one day, with the right company." Her tone was playful, with a flirtatious hint to it.

She let out a soft breath, stretching out for a moment as she adjusted to get more comfortable. The weight of recent events still lingered in the back of her mind, but for now, in this moment with Jay, they didn't seem so serious. "Seems like you've got a good life going for you out here," She remarked, with a voice softer than before. "It's nice. Maybe I could learn a thing or two from you about enjoying the simple things." The words carried a rare sincerity, a fleeting glimpse at who Empousa longed to be. It was something that usually she kept hidden away from others.

Avalon was definitely peaceful, Empousa was right about that. "Yeah, it's nice. I was born there, so it's all I've ever really known," she said, not sounding the least bit ashamed of that fact. Jay knew there was so much she didn't know, so much of the world she'd never explore- even just getting to know glimpse of life outside of Avalon felt like a luxury to her. "It's predictable, but in a comforting kind of way. Oh, I'd love hearing a story," she said quickly, hoping she didn't sound too over eager.

Jay spent a long moment looking over the bay to the island across. Maybe she could convince Finch to journey with her there sometime, but that felt like a trip she'd want to plan for, not somewhere they'd just spontaneously go. That was just how it was when you were such a homebody, everywhere felt farther than it really was. "I bet I could convince my sister to go with me," Jay commented idly, not picking up on the other wolf's connotations.

"It really is nice," Jay rambled on. "Back home I've been working on building a chicken coop. There's a lot of chickens that nest around the barns on our territory, so I've been brainstorming a good way to help them in the winter. It's been keeping me busy." Was that interesting? Or boring? The Destruction really didn't know. But either way, even sitting here daydreaming about swimming to islands and embarking on adventures, her mind still strayed back to home and what she had going on there, small as it might be.

Empousa's grin widened as Jay spoke, clearly interested in the woman's life. "Born and raised? And still there?" She chuckled softly, it fascinated Empousa honestly, "It's rare for people to stay someplace for so long, but it does sound nice. To be completely comfortable where you are."

"What type of story would you like to hear Jay? I wanna make sure I don't tell you something that will shock you too terribly bad." She said playfully, making a soft move closer to the woman to bump shoulders with her. She enjoyed this conversation a lot more than she thought she would, but maybe that's because Jay was just easy to talk to.

As Jay talked about taking her sister to the island, Empousa laughed softly. Shaking her head as she looked at the girl before her. "I see my comment slipped over your head. While you could always go with your sister, I meant you could go with me." She said with a wink, as she turned to look over the ocean.

Then Jay was speaking of her home and how she had been building a chicken coop, and how it had been keeping her busy. She nodded, thinking for a moment as she tried to figure out any sort of way to help her. "Livestock isn't my specialty, but you could always try to make a sort of fence. I'm unsure if chickens can dig out though." She really had meant it, she knew nothing about livestock other than how they tasted. She wanted to offer help nonetheless.

She stood up, moving a few paces back and stretching out her body. Looking at the brown-coated beauty that she had made company with, then back at the island. "If you want to be spontaneous, we can go over there now. I'll make sure you make it there safely." It was a promise, and then a wide grin spread over her lips. "It will be a good story to tell to everyone back at Avalon." She says softly. "I'll even walk you back to your borders.

Jay nodded enthusiastically in response to Empousa's question. She was proud of where she'd been raised, the place she called her home. Talking about it came easily to her and she was glad to share a little about her life with this new acquaintance. It seemed the other wolf was just as glad to share, though her words made it seem like she might harbor a past that might surprise Jay. "I'm not sure... maybe you could tell me about one of the coolest places you've ever visited?" It was hard not to immediately let her mind run wild, wondering the sort of life the other wolf had led- she'd said she lived an unpredictable life, after all. Jay's eyes widened as she tried to imagine the sort of things she'd seen.

Accepting the contact, she leaned just slightly into her touch. Empousa was friendly in an easy sort of way that made Jay feel at ease around her. Mostly- she also made her feel bashful in a way she wasn't used to. She explained what she'd meant by her comment and Jay found herself laughing nervously at her misunderstanding. "Oh- I mean, I'd love that," she said sheepishly. And she would! A friend to go adventuring with sounded quite nice, even if the island they were looking at seemed so far away...

And yet Empousa was standing suddenly, stretching out and inviting her to go right now. Being spontaneous, while it sounded fun in theory, seemed much more scary in reality. She'd be fine though, right? It was a short enough swim, and it wasn't like Jay wasn't physically fit...

"Are you sure? I'd love to go, as long as you're sure..." Jay wasn't the worrying type, but she didn't like putting others out, and imagining being a burden if she tagged along didn't settle well with her. But Empousa hadn't given her any reason to think that was even mildly the case, so Jay gave her head a shake and tried to rid herself of those worries.

Standing up, she too stretched out her forelimbs and her tail gave a big wag. "Have you scoped out a way down these cliffs yet? I think if we go south a bit the incline isn't quite so sharp," she gestured toward the cliff's southern point, hoping she was right. "Let's do it!" Even if they didn't make it all the way there, she was happy to enjoy her new-found company for a bit longer.

Empousa smiled as she thought about it, and then with a quick ahhh and a smile she knew what story to tell. But first, she would make sure they got a move on, if they wanted to be there before it was terribly dark they had to leave now. Her smile grew as the girl didn't shy away from the contact, it left Empousa feeling genuinely happy for a moment. An odd feeling that settled into her gut in a way that was not... unpleasant.

She looked over at Jay, an easy-going smile on her lips. "I have never been so sure of a spontaneous trip as I am now, I am lucky to go along to a new place with you." there was an emphasis put on you, to make it more genuine, it was someone like you, just simply you. Jay was easygoing, a breath of fresh air for the woman who always seemed to be swarmed with some sort of conflict.

She nodded as the woman stood and spoke, giving her an idea of the direction to head to find a trail down to the beach. "I haven't gotten to scope them out too much, but I think you are right let's head south!" her voice echoed Jay's plan, a reassuring nod of head directed at the smaller lady. She began to walk, brushing against Jay to usher her forward.

And then she with a wag of her tail and a smile began to tell her a story. "I think the coolest place I have ever been was a waterfall, which may sound bland at first but, it was humongous. It spanned on and on, and it was so beautiful there. Birds were everywhere, singing and calling to one another. And the land was coated in beautiful trees, vines, and moss. The plant life surrounding it was gorgeous too, and yet it was seemingly tucked away from the rest of the world. A sight so stunning, so unique was so entirely private. That night I climbed into the trees and fell asleep to the sounds of the waterfall, and the frogs croaking along with it. It was peaceful, I almost didn't wanna leave." She spoke rhythmically, pausing every once in a while to emphasize what she said. And then she turned to smile at Jay, "I am happy I did though, that was a long time ago, and if I hadn't I wouldn't have so many stories to tell you." she offered a playful wink. In reality, telling stories was one of the things she really enjoyed.

She paused in her steps as she saw a trail that seemingly led down to the beach, looking at Jay with an excited grin. "Stay behind me and be wary of your steps. The path looks worn in and stable, but I want to keep you safe." she said, her voice soft and light. And then she was walking toward the path and beginning the trek down it.

Jay's smile returned tenfold- her gratitude was genuine, practically oozing from every pore. An adventure! Oh, she'd be so excited to go home and tell her sister and her dad all about this. Maybe she could even find something to bring back home too, maybe an intricately colored flower that could be used for making dye, maybe a pretty shell she found on the beach.... islands had lots of things like that, right? Her tail twitched with anticipation as the two rose together. "I feel lucky too," she agreed with a nod.

There was no hesitation in her as she followed along after her new friend. Maybe she ought to not blindly trust wolves she didn't know well, but it was hard not to when Empousa was so nice, so inviting- Jay's blind trust would no doubt be her downfall someday.

Heading further down the the stretch of cliffside, Jay's ears swiveled forward, listening to the offered story intently. A waterfall? So huge? Surrounded by birds, trees, vines? Her sea-green eyes widened at the thought, trying to picture it. It didn't sound like anything she'd ever seen before, and imagining it- helped by Empousa's vivid imagery- made her all the more excited to get on with their adventure. "That sounds so lovely," she sighed, a bit wistfully. Maybe someday she'd see something so beautiful, she could only hope.

Before long they found a path down the cliffside, and began to carefully trek down. Only a couple times did she feel her paws beginning to slip, catching on unstable rocks, but she furrowed her brow and moved carefully enough that she avoided danger. One careful step after another they made their descent, Jay panting softly by the time they reached the bottom. She moved toward the beach, giving her new friend a gentle nudge along her flank. "I've never been on such a long swim," she admitted, a hint of trepidation creeping into her voice. "It's not too long, right?"
