Set nearly 25 years after the end of the Second Wizarding War, a new conflict descends on the Wizarding World. The Witches and Wizards of Tomorrow, an organization seeking to merge Muggle technology with magic, have just attempted to launch the CloudChaser on 31 December 2022. The dirigible would be capable of mass Apparation across vast distances, but it would never reach its first destination. It malfunctioned, killing 935 of its 936 passengers. The only survivor: Aurae Dulane, the head architect of the CloudChaser, who fled the scene. Now the Wizarding World seeks someone to blame, as the Emergency Minister for Magic tries to curb the violence that sweeps through the streets. A new army of Death Eaters is also on the rise, ready to take advantage of the chaos. Simultaneously, stirred by unrest about them, an ancient cult known as the Children of Epona, must decide how to move forward in this new age. The struggle for power begins on New Year's Day. |
